Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
MS1 Grades Closing
As we approach the mid-semester point, please be aware that grades for mid-semester 1 will close on Monday, 11/4, with progress reports available on PowerSchool at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, 11/14. This interim period allows teachers to finalize grades, and we encourage students and families to review assignment scores and communicate with teachers regarding any questions or concerns. Remember, course scores are rolling, and the progress report reflects learning progress up to that date, while final scores will be communicated on transcripts.
Additionally, at the end of each reporting period (November, January, April), students with off-campus privileges and their parents will be notified of any changes to their status based on academic performance and adherence to the student handbook.
Senior Project Community Volunteers Needed!
We’re seeking approximately 15 community members from Amherst and Mont Vernon to guide our seniors through the Senior Project at Souhegan High School. Volunteers will work with staff on panels that check student progress at four key meetings before the final public exhibition.
Ideal Qualities:
- Engaged and supportive
- Constructive feedback provider
- Open-minded and approachable
- Committed to attendance
- Collaborative spirit
For more details, refer to the full letter here. If interested, please contact Kathy Maddock (kmaddock@sau39.org) or Ryan Lemieux (rlemieux@sau39.org) by November 1, 2024. Thank you for considering this opportunity!
Honors Challenge
As of Wednesday, all teachers have sent out email confirmation to both students and parents of enrollment in the Honors Challenge. If you have not yet received confirmation from a teacher and believe you and your child did enroll in the Honors Challenge in that course, please contact the teacher directly and we will update our records. All students who have opted into the Honors Challenge will see an “HP” designation on progress reports, and teachers will keep students and families updated on progress in fulfilling Honors Challenge requirements as the year progresses.
Parent Teacher Conferences
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming parent-teacher conferences at Souhegan Cooperative High School! These conferences are a great opportunity for meaningful discussions about your child's progress and to strengthen our school-to-home partnership.
Conferences will take place on Monday, November 4, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday, November 5, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. To schedule your conference, please visit myconferencetime.com/Souhegan. Sign-ups open today, October 11, at 3:00 PM, and will close on October 31 at 11:59 PM.

What is your role at Souhegan?
Learning Specialist on Team 9B
How long have you been with Souhegan?
This is my 23rd year at Souhegan
What do you love about your job?
There are so many things I love about my job. It's no surprise that one of them is working with students to improve their understanding and help them to be more successful. I also enjoy working with teachers to build a curriculum that reaches all students.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a frustrated filmmaker so in my spare time, I like to spend hours editing videos. I come from a family of artists, and this is where I channel my creative energies. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and son traveling and hanging out on Sebago Lake in Maine in the summers.
If you were given one wish what would it be?
My one wish would be for every student who passes in and out of my life as a teacher, to be happy, healthy, and successful in wherever their life takes them.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
While you may not believe in yourself at the moment, I will always believe in you until you do!
