Jaguar Community,
The first half of the school year is coming to a close! We are so grateful to the LISD students, staff and community who've made this semester another great one. In this newsletter you'll find stories about how our students have been learning, connecting with one another, and giving back in these last few months. This time of year is full of festivities, celebrations and events, so be sure to check your child's campus calendar as well as the Flower Mound High School calendar for things happening in your area. We hope you all have a magical holiday break!

FMHS Junior Page Matthews Earns Perfect Score on AP Test
A few weeks into her junior year, Page got an email from the College Board while at a morning FMHS Cross Country workout. When she returned to the locker room she opened the email, which informed Page that she was one of only six students in the entire country to receive a perfect score on the test. Her multiple choice and written responses had earned her every point possible from the exam graders. “I started screaming and running around the locker room,” she said of the initial shock. “[My teammates] started running around with me.” For context, in 2023 over 350,000 students across the world took the AP World History exam. Out of those, only six students received a perfect score. That means Page had just joined a club of only .002% of exam-taking students. READ MORE

- Scott Taylor, Flower Mound High School | "Mr. Taylor was my daughter's theater teacher (graduated 2014). Mr. Taylor inspired her to become a Stage Manager. I was fortunate to go on his NYC trip. He shared all his love for the city and how it impacted his life today. Over the years, I still see Mr. Taylor and he always asks about my daughter who does work in the industry. He recently went for a visit to NYC and went out of his way to see my daughter in action. He truly cares about his students both past and present. Thanks Mr. Taylor!"
- Donna Niewinski, Shadow Ridge Middle School | "6th grade has been big transition for my son...Mrs. Niewinski and the SDI staff at Shadow Ridge have been so kind and patient through this transition process, really working to figure out how to best support my son. Mrs. Niewinski is such a kind, caring, and compassionate teacher and we're so thankful she is at Shadow Ridge!"
- Shelby Hite, Old Settlers Elementary School | "Ms. Hite is an amazing teacher and I’m so thankful my son gets to be with her everyday. She goes above and beyond for these students, always thinking of creative, fun ways to teach them. My son has ADHD & her style of teaching is perfect for him and he thrives each day. I appreciate that she makes each student feel valued and important. I am so grateful as a parent! We love Ms. Hite!"
