Our East Norriton Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024 school year is Mrs. Strickland! Mrs. Strickland is a gifted education teacher at ENMS and always goes above and beyond in helping make our school a great place for kids. Students stated that Mrs. Strickland “goes above and beyond to promote learning and provide exciting new experiences for students. She has done a lot to make our building a better place. She is an amazing educator, we are lucky to have her. ”
Congratulations to Mrs. Strickland! and to all of our teachers who were nominated. We have an amazing staff of teachers here at ENMS!

8th grade Promotion Wednesday June 5th 9am
Parents will need to enter and exit the school through the rear courtyard. This is the same location where you dropped off your child for the 8th grade dance. We cannot allow parents to enter through the front doors due to rest of the school being on a regular school day schedule. Doors will open about 8:40am. The ceremony begins at 9am so arrive early to allow time for you to be seated.
Seating is available on a first come first serve basis. Parents should check in at the table near the rear doors to make sure you have no more than 3 people with you for each graduate. The reason we have to limit our tickets to 3 per graduate is due to our seating capacity in the gym. Restrooms are located inside the gym in the boys' and girls' locker rooms.
Programs can be accessed on your cell phone by using your camera app to view the QR codes posted along the walls.
At the end of the ceremony, parents should plan to take their child home with this them. Parents must meet their child outside in the back courtyard after the students do their final promotion walk through all the halls of the school.
PSSA and Keystone Results
We should receive preliminary PSSA results in June. We do not send home official results until we receive the letters for parents in mid August. However, if you would like to know how your child did on these exams you can email me in mid June/July and I can provide unofficial results.
2024-2025 Athletic Information
As we wind down the school year, let's turn our attention to being prepared for the next school year. Participation in school athletics is a valuable experience, and we want to ensure that every student has the opportunity to engage fully in our programs.
Over the past year, we have encountered some challenges with physicals and BigTeams, which have unfortunately led to canceled practices and games. To avoid these issues and to ensure a smooth start to the next school year, we ask that all current 6th and 7th-grade students prepare their BigTeams accounts before leaving for summer break.
By setting up your BigTeams accounts now, you will:
Ensure a seamless transition into the next school year.
Reduce headaches for parents trying to navigate the system last minute.
Receive important communications over the summer regarding physicals and program offerings.
Steps for Current 6th Grade Students to Complete:
Go to www.planeths.com and select "Create an Account."
Create an account using your school email address.
For the graduation year, select "2030."
Set the password to ENMS(student ID#) to ensure access to your account in the fall.
Select all sports you plan to try out for during the entire school year. If unsure about a sport, select it anyway.
Parents should also go to www.planeths.com and create their own account. They will then link their account to the student's account.
Steps for Current 7th Grade Students to Complete:
Go to www.planeths.com and log in to your current account.
Ensure that your graduation year listed on the account is 2029.
Change the password on your account to ENMS(student ID#)
Please take the time to complete the above steps on BigTeams as soon as possible. If you need assistance, please reach out to our athletic department before the school year ends.
Follow @nasdMSathletics Instagram to remain updated on upcoming news and events.
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to a successful and organized athletic season next year!
PIAA Sports Physical Form
All students participating in sports need a sports physical on file using the form attached. A normal school physical will not meet this requirement.
You can get a head start on fall sports by getting your child a physical over the summer. We do offer them at the school in August/early September, but sometimes it is much easier for you to make an appointment with your child's doctor and have them complete the form over the summer. This form must be then uploaded into Big Teams, but we can help you once we begin school is you are not able to do so as long as this form is completed.
Below is a pdf of the PIAA required physical form.
Art Coming Your Way!
Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Brewster are so proud of our ENMS artists' work this year! They put in so much hard work and it shows in their amazing art. All of the work has been organized by homeroom and will be passed out on Monday, June 3rd, at the end of the day in their homeroom classes. We recommend that students bring a plastic bag with them on Monday to be able to carry their artwork home safely.
Any student that worked on artwork for the big Justice Center Project will not receive the original artwork back until next year. FreshArtist, the nonprofit that is organizing the whole program along with Montgomery County, is still in the process of deciding which pieces will be chosen to be hung in the new justice center. If you have any questions about this or are planning to move over the summer, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Brewster by email, rbrewster@nasd.k12.pa.us . We are so proud of our creative students!
ENMS Welcomed Incoming 5th graders
On Friday May 31st ENMS welcomed its incoming class of 200 5th graders. Below is a video put together by our students in Mrs. Strickland's Gifted Education students to give a brief introduction to our school. The event culminated with a tour of the school given by our 8th grade students. It was a wonderful event and they are excited to attend ENMS in the fall.
2023-2024 Yearbooks
We will be distributing yearbooks to students who ordered them on Tuesday. We will have a few extra yearbooks available for those who did not order one. These supplies are limited and the cost is $25.00
I'd also like to take a few moments to acknowledge the work of Mrs. Ronette Jones. She is the proud mother of Coleton (9th grade) and Jerico (7th grade). Ronette has volunteered to put together the yearbook for the last two school years. This is no quick task. It takes months of planning, preparation and use of the online yearbook program. She collects photos from our staff and families and spends a great deal of time putting this together. If you happen to run into Ronette this summer please thank her for this work.
This is just another example of the partnership between PFC and our school. Thank you Ronette for putting together a wonderful yearbook for the students, families and staff. It looks wonderful and we appreciate all of the time you put in to make this a special keepsake for our students and families.
2024-2025 School Calendar
Please take some time to review the 2024-2025 school calendar. This is a great item to review when planning vacations, and other events to assure your child does not miss important days of school. This is especially true with the winter break.
We return to school on Thursday January 2nd due to the Christmas and New Year's holidays falling on a Wednesday. It is a slightly longer break than usual, but wanted people to know we return on a Thursday which is a little different than normal due to the calendar. I expect some families may plan trips etc. and may keep their student out of school for the rest of that week. I want to make sure that if that is the case absence notes and vacation forms need to be completed in advance since those are scheduled school days.
PFC Announcements
Thank you to the Parent Faculty Club Executive Board for another outstanding year! Your dedication and commitment to our school community is inspiring.
From left to right, Ronette Jones, Secretary, Jenny Rosen, Treasurer, Nicole Echevarria, Vice President, Heather Garman, Treasurer, Amy Bligh Daniels, President, and Shannon Mieski, Vice President.
We welcome back next year’s returning parents, Nicole Echevarria, Shannon Mieski, Heather Garman and Ronette Jones. Jennifer Commale, will be joining the ENMS PFC as Vice President. Jenny Rosen and Amy Bligh Daniels are “graduating” from the middle school and will miss you all!
The PFC is seeking a President and a Recording Secretary for the 2024-2025 executive board.
Congratulations to all 8th grade families!
Chromebook Fees
All chromebook fees should be paid asap
In the last few weeks we have mailed our letters for Chromebook fees owed by students. Here are some guidelines related to fees owed by students of different grades.
Any 8th grade student that owes Chromebook fees will be excluded from end of the year activities if these fees are not paid. This includes our NYC City Trip, 8th grade Formal, Promotion, and the Plymouth Swim Club. 8th grade teachers have been meeting with students and we have mailed letters to families to encourage payment. If you owe fees associated with damaged Chromebooks these fees must be paid in order to attend the end of year events. Currently, we have over $5,000 in damaged Chromebook fees associated with the 8th grade class. If the fees are not paid we will not allow students to participate in those activities.
Removing the rubber strips from chromebooks will result in a charge ranging from $5-$40 depending on the work required to replace it. We are noticing this happening in 5th grade more often due to them having newly designed chromebooks.
Students in grades 5-7 are encouraged to pay your fees as soon as possible. We try not to eliminate students from participating in end of the year activites like field days etc. for these grades. However, these fees follow the student into 8th grade. To avoid a large bill due in 8th grade (due to unpaid fees from grades 5-7) we encourage you to pay your fees now. If they are unpaid, it will impact end of the year activities when they reach 8th grade.
If you have questions or disputes regarding fees please contact our main office at 610-275-6520.
Community Bulletin board
If you have items that you would like posted on the district bulletin board please submit them using the following link. We will not be able to include community flyers in our weekly newsletter. Please consider using this for all of your community events.
Immunizations for Students Entering 7th grade
We made it through another school year! It has been a pleasure getting to know and caring for your children. We thank you for your partnership and cooperation this school year. Here are a few reminders as we end this year and prepare for next year.
Medication that was stored at school, will be sent home on or before the last day of school. If your child is not in school to receive medication, parents can make arrangements with the nurse to pick it up the last week of school. If medication is not picked up by the last day of school it will be discarded if it expires before the new school year.
Reminders for next year:
If your child requires medication to be given at school, the nurse will need a doctor's order/note to give medication. This includes Tylenol and/or Motrin.
All incoming 6th grade students are required to hand in a physical exam from a doctor. Forms are available from the nurse or on our website.
All incoming 7th grade students must show proof of Tdap and meningitis vaccines before the start of the new school year. If these are not handed in before August 1st your child will be excluded from school on the first day of school. Please email proof to Lzangara@nasd.k12.pa.us
If your child has a medical condition that requires nurse assistance please contact Mrs. Zangara to make proper accommodations for your child.
If your child is ever injured (has a concussion, surgery, cast/brace, sling or crutches) please contact the nurse. We can work with you to provide support and accommodations in school while your child heals.
Nurse contact information over the summer: I will be checking email and voicemail over the summer please leave me a message. I will return your call as soon as I am able.

Know Someone That Might Need Some Help?
Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.
Here’s how it works:
- Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system
- Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions
- Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
- If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
