Hello Families

We are excited to celebrate Veteran's Day on Monday Nov.11th by inviting our Veterans to lunch at West Haven. Lunch will be provided by the school for our Veterans. Our students love the opportunity to celebrate our heroes.

Federal Impact Cards (blue cards) were handed out on Nov. 4th. We will be collecting these until November 25th. The collection of Federal Impact Aid cards is crucial because it evaluates the extent to which federal activities, such as military bases and other federally owned lands, affect local school district funding. This program acknowledges that schools in these areas cannot collect property taxes from federal lands, leading to funding gaps. By collecting these cards, the government ensures that school districts receive appropriate compensation to bridge these gaps, maintaining educational standards and resources for all students of impacted communities.

Ultimately, the study is vital for securing fair funding to provide high quality education to all students. You can help your student's school by ensuring that surveys are signed, dated, and returned accurately in the timeframe requested.

Parents, take a break from making dinner and help out our school at the same time. Wear school colors or mention West Haven elementary when you order and 15% of sales will be donated back to the school. Students who wear school shirts or school colors will receive a free scoop of premium frozen custard!

Veterans Day Celebration Luncheon

Veterans are invited to eat lunch with their student(s). The student can introduce their veteran to their class before lunch. Veterans will then follow the class to lunch. They are welcome to a school lunch, paid for by the school, or they can bring their own lunch.

School Play

This year we will be having a school play. We are hoping to have two casts. More details will follow soon. If you are wondering how to support the play, a sign up genius for volunteer positions has been created. Take a look:
