My lovely blank newsletter
August 18th, 2024
Congratulations, Pine Forest Families!😀
We had an amazing first week of school and we can't thank you enough for your cooperation with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal! As we move into Week 2, please review the reminders below regarding Student Arrival and Student Dismissal to ensure that Week 2 is even better than last week!
Morning Arrival
*Only students enrolled in our school's Morning Extended Day program and members of our Safety Patrol are allowed inside of the building BEFORE 8:00am.
*Please do not drop your students off prior to 8:00am. We do not have the staff available for supervision of students outside of our Extended Day program until 8:00am.
*You may wait with your child in your vehicle until 8:00am.
*Our school's Extended Day program is currently full; however, if you would like to apply and join the wait list, please visit www.duvalschools.org/extendedday.
Afternoon Dismissal
*Afternoon Dismissal will begin between 2:45 and 2:50pm each day.
*Car Riders and Extended Day Families, ANNOUNCE YOUR ARRIVAL through the PikMyKid app. The use of this application is REQUIRED for all enrolled families.
*Extended Day families, please refrain from picking your child(ren) up from Extended Day until 3:30pm. Dismissing Extended Day students while we are trying to dismiss car riders prolongs our Car Line dismissal procedures.
*Remain in your vehicles. If you are having difficulties with the PikMyKid app, we can assist you from your vehicle.
*Our carline has been moving quickly this year and teachers work hours end at 3:10pm. Please make sure you are on time to pick up your child(ren). We will begin charging fees for late pick-up soon.
*If you would like to join our wait list for Afternoon Extended Day, please visit www.duvalschools.org/extendedday.
Extended Day Updates
Our new Extended Day Director is Mrs. McCrimmon. Please direct all inquiries to her via email. Her email address is goodmanm3@duvalschools.org.
If your child is enrolled in our school's Extended Day program, please make sure to come in during drop-off or pick-up, sign for your Flu Acknowledgement form and pick up a Pay Schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.
🎨ðŸŽ2024-2025 Arts Resource Schedule🎨ðŸŽ
Students will begin visiting their Arts Resource classes this week; however, we will be on a revised schedule due to testing. Please refer to the information below that gives a breakdown of day-to-day events.
In Kindergarten-3rd Grade, students attend resource class each day with their homeroom class. In 4th and 5th Grade, students travel to Arts Resource classes with their Advanced Art groups. Click on the link below to download a copy of this year's Arts Resource Schedule. If you are reading this newsletter from your phone, screenshot the image of the schedule below and save to your "Favorites" to refer to when needed. 😉
Reminders about Arts Resource Classes:
Dance: There is a dress requirement. Girls may wear a black leotard and pink tights OR a black t-shirt and black leggings. Jeans are not leggings. Hair must be in a bun or pulled out of the face. If your child is in Advanced Dance in 4th or 5th Grade, Mrs. Daly will communicate her requirements for her Advanced Dance students.
PE: On days that students have PE with Coach Miller, please make sure they wear close-toed tennis shoes and dress comfortably for the weather.
Art: If you have not turned in your student's Art Kit supplies, please make sure to do so as soon as possible.
Strings: Students in Grades 3-5 will be allowed to rent instruments soon. Instruments are limited and are rented out on a first come, first served basis.
Theatre: Mrs. Bolden has requested that students wear their hair pulled back away from their faces on Theatre Day.
Music/Chorus: All 3rd Grade students need to bring in a 2-pocket, 3-prong folder for Mrs. Smith's Music class.
Mark your calendars to join us for Open House!
