Growing into Greatness - February 3-7
A Note From Mrs. Matthews
Dear Lester Elementary Families,
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible support during our Boosterthon fundraiser! We've extended our deadline for one week in hopes of reaching our $10,000 goal but we are so grateful for the support you have already shown. Your generosity and enthusiasm help make a difference in our school, providing valuable resources and opportunities for our students. We appreciate each and every one of you!
As we move into the next few months, we have several exciting community events on the calendar that we hope you’ll join us for. Mark your calendars for our upcoming Sweetheart Dance, a wonderful evening for families to celebrate together, and our Lucky to be at Lester 5K, a fantastic way to support our school while promoting health and wellness. See details below!
Additionally, we encourage you to schedule your Parent-Teacher Conference on Friday, the 7th. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, receive progress updates, and discuss ways to support their growth and success. Thank you for being such a vital part of our Lester community. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
Sincerely,
Tiffany Matthews, Principal

Ten-year-old Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen often think of life before the war. It's now 1943 and their life in Copenhagen is filled with school, food shortages, and the Nazi soldiers marching through town. When the Jews of Denmark are "relocated," Ellen moves in with the Johansens and pretends to be one of the family. Soon Annemarie is asked to go on a dangerous mission to save Ellen's life.
