The Brandeis Career Center is a one-stop resource designed to help students and parents plan for post-secondary success with access to information regarding but not limited to: SAT/ACT Preparation and Registration, College Admission Applications, Financial Aid, Scholarships, College and Career Fairs, ASVAB, Military, Career Exploration, and Post Secondary Planning.

FAFSA (now open for 25-26 school year)
Steps to complete prior to starting the FAFSA form
- Create an FSA ID: You and your parent(s) will need an FSA ID to complete the FAFSA. You can create one at studentaid.gov if you donโt already have one.
- Gather Your Documents: Make sure you have your Social Security number, driverโs license, federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned.
- Check Deadlines: You can maximize your aid by submitting your FAFSA for next fall by the January 15 priority deadline.
- Submit Your Application: Go to studentaid.gov to complete and submit your application.

- Official high school transcript. All transcripts must be submitted using the grading policy/GPA scale currently used by their school; additionally, ACT/SAT scores
- Students must reside and attend a high school in Bexar County.
- Acceptance letter from college/university (copy must be enclosed with application)
- Two Letters of Recommendation (LOR) from a high school teacher, counselor, social worker, religious official, or school principal. The letters must include your potential to be successful in college; and have two contact numbers, an e-mail address, and your full name.
Norman Vestal Scholarship
Deadline: March 28, 2025
The Rotary Club of San Antonio will grant five (5) $500 scholarships* to area graduating high school seniors from Bexar County who plan to pursue a career in Agrilife (to include Agribusiness and Ag Mechanics). *Note: Additional amounts may be awarded at the discretion of the committee
Eligibility:
1. Currently enrolled in a high school in Bexar County.
2. Classified as a Senior during the 2024-2025 School year.
3. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
4. Cannot be the child or grandchild of a Rotarian.
5. Must plan on attending college during the 2025-2026 academic year at an accredited college or university.
6. Must be pursuing a degree in Agri-Life (to include Agri-Business & Ag Mechanics).

Financial Aid Requirement
In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), ยง28.0256, beginning with students enrolled in 12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year, each student must do one of the following in order to graduate:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA); or
- Submit a signed opt-out form.
Laws and Rules
In 2019, the 86th Texas Legislature established the new requirement for Texas students to complete a financial aid application (or formally opt out) in order to graduate. The State Board of Education (SBOE) adopted rules related to the new requirement in January 2021.
House Bill (HB) 3 required the commissioner to adopt rules as necessary to implement the requirement. These rules were drafted in consultation with a statewide advisory committee and were published in October 2021.
