POST-SECONDARY APPLICATIONS OPEN OCTOBER 1st for most ALBERTA INSTITUTIONS
Get your ALBERTA.CA Basic account ready!
Most institutions are open for Fall 2025 applications starting October 1, 2024. Some may already be open, so check the individual institutions sites for details.
If you are applying for a competitive program, you should attend an ApplyAlberta session and get your account set up to apply on October 1. (Even midnight of September 30). Programs like registered nursing and the health sciences at NAIT & SAIT fill up FAST so be sure to apply early.
Considering post-secondary, but unsure with so many options available?
Grades 9-12
⤳ Visit Post-Secondary websites and/or explore possibilities to visit the institution directly: Open House Events, Preview Days, or Student for a Day. Always check for pre-registration requirements.
⤳ THINK ABOUT and ASK QUESTIONS to determine the RIGHT FIT: program choice, residence costs, student services, other supports, location, safety, transferring of credits, tuition, student organizations, and so much more! Do your research!

Traveling or working will give you a new perspective and help guide your decisions. Eliminating what you DON'T want to do is as important as trying to narrow down what you WANT to do. It is your YOUR journey.
So much money out there, but where do you start? Consider signing up for these scholarship websites. Use your PERSONAL email!
Many scholarships are based on leadership and volunteerism, so be sure to stay well-rounded for more scholarship opportunities.
