Calling all 6th Graders!! Here's your opportunity to design the Yearbook Cover for your LAST Elementary School Yearbook. We have extended the due date to Monday, February 26th! Please turn your artwork into the Gayman front office.

We are excited to welcome Annette Whipple, author of nonfiction books, to our school on Wednesday 2/21! We are looking forward to learning more about the research and writing process she uses to develop her Did you Know…? Animal book series. Due to their popularity and ongoing supply issues in the publishing sector, Annette’s books have been challenging to locate. A book order form will be sent home on Wednesday following the visit. Bookplates will be signed by the author and installed in the books when they arrive early in March. Due to limited supply, all orders will be filled on a first come-first served basis.

Central Bucks School District teamed up with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Youth Heart Watch Program (under the Division of Cardiology) to improve our schools emergency response to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Gayman Elementary's Code Heart Drill that was scheduled for last week was rescheduled. New date TBA.

If you would like to pick up your son/daughter early for an appointment, please pick up your child before 2:45PM. After 2:45PM, your child will be asked to wait with the other walkers, bus and car riders in his/her classroom, to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone.

To volunteer at a class party or chaperone a field trip, your clearances must be up-to-date.

If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. During physical activity, it is important that students wear proper footwear. Loose fitting shoes (i.e. crocs, moccasins, slippers, etc.) create safety challenges during recess and physical education class. For example, during kick ball at recess, crocs have flown off and we have had a few toe injuries during PE.

If your child has physical education class, or would like to play an active recess game, please ensure that they are wearing sneakers. Thank you!

Going into the winter season...

If there is inclement weather in our forecast, then there may be a 2-hour delay. Should that occur, please plan for the following schedule.

• Grades 1-6: 10:35AM - 3:15PM
• AM Kindergarten: 10:35AM - 12:20PM
• PM Kindergarten: 1:30PM-3:15PM - Parent Drop off at 1:20PM

Families can access the online application for Free & Reduced Meals by clicking here. The application must be submitted each year AND for each child. If your child received free or reduced lunch last year, you must re-apply for the 23-24 school year.

In honor of Kindness Month and to share some love with senior citizens, February's KCC activity will involve creating a special project for local nursing home residents.

FINAL WEEK TO SIGN UP!

Gayman Home and School is excited to offer a 4 week Mindful Movement Club (YOGA) on Tuesdays from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. The Club will start on Tuesday, March 5th and run through Tuesday, April 2nd (no class on March 26th). The cost is $80 per child for all 4 weeks!

Jessi Winn, a dedicated yoga teacher with over a decade of experience brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice. She holds a prestigious 500 E-RYT certification and best of all she is a Gayman parent!

The Central Bucks School District is hosting a comprehensive wellness fair for the community on Tuesday, February 20th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Central Bucks High School South, with a snow date of February 26th . Come talk to providers to get more information about mental health, behavioral health, and general wellness services/options in the community. This exciting event will be represented by over 60 vendors that have availability for kids, teens, and families. Please see the attached Save-the-Date, and please look out for more information as the event gets closer. You will not want to miss this!
