Don't FORGET on Sunday to Fall Back!

Just a reminder that this weekend we "fall back" an hour for Daylight Savings Time. Please be extra cautious when dropping off your kids, as it will be darker in the mornings. Thank you for keeping our community safe!

CDC traveled to the Pumpkin Patch

Mrs. Martin's 5th Grade Class

5th grade is reading The Phantom Tollbooth. In the book, the characters go to “the word market” they buy do it yourself words. So, naturally Mrs. Coxey and I decided to let the kids recreate the word market and create their own words with alphabet cookies. They had the best time and loved making as making words as they could! See attached pics

It is awesome to see when we empower kids how much ownership they take in doing their jobs and being a part of the classroom family. Here is a great example of a kindergarten student being the door greeter for his kindergarten class. What a wonderful way to be invited into a room!

DCS Safety Plan Summary

Additionally, we will hold a public hearing at 5:30 PM on December 2, prior to the school board meeting. We hope to see you there!

8th Grade Fundraiser for the Washington D.C. Trip

Our 8th graders are selling Little Caesars pizza kits and meal deals!! Reach out to a student going on the trip for more details. They will share their unique QR code with you to shop in their "digital store". Items available include cheese and pepperoni pizzas, family and personal sizes, cheese bread, crazy bread, and cookie dough. This is a great way to feed your family and help an 8th grader at the same time! Every item sold helps that student pay for their trip to D.C.!
