Here is the student bulletin for this week. This Friday will follow the M/W schedule.

Parents/Guardians who are interested in book club will receive a separate email invitation this week to coordinate dates and times for our first meeting and book selection.

Order a free lunch for your student through the Hart District. Free lunches are available to all students in the Hart District. Orders must be placed before 8:00 AM.

College Information Sessions

This week we have a college information session. This information session is a chance for students to meet a representative from the specific college and learn more about the campus.

• Whittier College is visiting our campus on Friday, October 18th from 7:45-8:45 am in AOC Room 102. If you are interested, please be on campus at that time.

Spring 2024 Scheduling

This week we continue working on Spring 2025 scheduling. The majority of student's AOC class schedules remain the same for next semester, but COC classes change. 9th grade students will be pre-assigned COC classes, while current 10th-12th grade students are working on choosing classes that fit their AOC schedule. Formal COC registration will be November 5th. More information will be sent out closer to the date regarding fee payment.

College Application Labs (12th Grade)

College Application Labs: Seniors wanting a place to work on college applications or have them checked for submission can join Ms. Grijalva in the AOC Computer Lab on the following days afterschool from 3pm-4pm: October 9, 15,16, 21, 23, 28, 30. November dates TBD

Hello AOC Families!

We are excited to announce that Project Linus had a very successful Fall 2024 Make-A-Blanket Day! The Nonprofit Ventures -Project Linus had a great Make a Blanket Day event this pat Saturday and had 270 participants and brought in over 560 blankets! This will go towards helping cover sick and traumatized children in Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys this cold winter season. If you would like to help comfort these children please go to www.scvprojectlinus.org for video instructions on our no-knot pattern our hospitals prefer and drop them off at AOC or Joann Fabrics and tell the cashier or front desk the donation is for Project Linus! We also have an Amazon wish list on our web page if you want to help supply our class with much needed equipment! Thank you to all who came out this weekend!

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
