Dual Credit- Physics12/ Physics 104
There is an exciting opportunity that exists at Camosun and UVIC for this year's Grade 11 (next year's Grade 12). Students can enroll in one or more courses while attending high school, if they pertain to the student's future pathway. Credits obtained at College/University can be used toward high school graduation, as well as a college/university- these are called "Dual Credit" courses. If accepted, tuition is paid for by the Greater Victoria School District. Spectrum's Career Resource Centre team in collaboration with the counselling department are here to help. uStart
The uStart program is for high-achieving students from the Greater Victoria School District (SD61) who want to take courses at UVic during Grade 12.
- Receive elective credit toward your diploma and university credit from UVic.
- Get a head start on your post-secondary studies with your tuition paid by SD61.
If you're thinking about applying, talk to your career centre before the end of February . Grade 11's for your Grade 12 year. You'll need their assistance to prepare your application.
Dream it ~ Be it 2025
Dream it ~ Be it 2025 Conference for Girls and those who identify as female
A unique opportunity for girl and young women, transgender, and non-binary youth aged 15 -25 to explore their dreams and discover their potential.
Cost: FREE
Date: Tuesday March 4th, 2025
Time: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Venue: Chief and Petty Officers Mess, 1575 Lyall Street in Esquimalt.
Esquimalt. Doors will open at 9 am, Walk of Life (career information booths) will run until the morning workshops start at 11.
A morning and afternoon workshop will be offered with lunch being served from 12-12:45. The event runs until 2pm.
Registration is now open and the students will select their workshops and lunches at the same time.
Registration will close on Feb 28th at 5pm.
Workshops will fill quickly, register early to get the sessions you want.

Employment opportunity - Spring Break Film Making Camp
We are looking to hire students to be a part of our Spring Break Film Making camp in partnership with the Town of Oak Bay and Saanich.
MINERVA Opportunity
1. Rise and Shine Summer Program (offered in Spring!)
Rise and Shine is a virtual program containing seven sessions developed by mental health experts that give participants the opportunity to connect with supportive peers and mentors in a safe and non-judgmental space while navigating the journey of emotional and mental wellness and discovering their resilience. Every session will include a workshop with interactive activities that allow participants to practice valuable tools for wellness while building supportive connections with other youth.
Program Details:

· Time: 10:00–11:30 AM PST

· Age Group: Youth aged 15–24

2. Learning to Lead™ Program
This free leadership program is for girls in Grades 10–12 to help them explore their leadership potential, build confidence, and create a supportive network for their educational and career journeys.
Program Details:
· Dates: Wednesdays, April 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
· Time: 6:00–8:00 PM PST
· Location: Online via Zoom
· Deadline to Apply: March 29th (rolling admissions; early applications encouraged)
Session Topics:
· April 9th: Opening Circle and Introduction to Leadership
· April 16th: Owning Our Strengths and Values
· April 23rd: The Mentor
· April 30th: The Not-so-Subtle Art of Confidence and Closing Circle
What Participants Gain:
· Greater self-awareness and confidence through interactive workshops
· Connections with inspiring mentors and supportive peers
· A deeper understanding of their leadership strengths and core values
· One alumna will be awarded the Youth Leadership Award ($1,000 bursary)
· One alumna will receive a full scholarship to the Shad Canada Summer Program
