CHILI SUPPER
Over 40 years, Linworth hosts the annual Chili Supper the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving. At this event, all Linworth families, as well as staff and alumni, are invited for a gigantic pot luck dinner.
When: Tuesday, November 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
What We Do: We’ll provide several pots of various chili types, including a vegetarian option. We’ll have bowls, plates, utensils, cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, and volunteer-provided rice, muffins, and drinks.
What You Do: 1. Show up and enjoy some chili.
2. Bring a shareable side dish (A-L) or dessert (M-Z).
3. Volunteer here if you’d like.
Why: Thanksgiving is a great time for family and friends to get together. Many graduates are in town. At Linworth, COMMUNITY is not just the people in the building daily, but families, alumni, and neighbors. The annual Chili Supper is a time to celebrate all of the joys of COMMUNITY.
That night, there will be voluntary donation cans and QR codes for people who would like to contribute to Parent Board, the Linworth parent organization for all families. There is also an online Silent Auction to support the Experience Fund, which helps finance experiential opportunities, like Walkabout.

Anyone who made donations and whose employers offer matches can reach out directly to me about doing a match.
Share your emailed link or this: With Family & Friends.
Based on survey results, 74.2% of Linworth families indicated that they’d like to do a direct drive, which is a one time optional donation, in lieu of other fundraisers.
A link to your student's fundraising page was emailed to your parent/ guardian account.
We ask that you share this with family, friends, and even workplaces to whatever degree you are comfortable. No donation is too small, and we appreciate anything that you are able to contribute.
Phyte Club Update
It was a great week in the garden this week! We worked on the labyrinth, planted the last of the garlic, processed many seeds for next year, and got materials for making row covers. We also hosted the Plant Your Pumpkin event at the Worthington Farmers Market where we promoted native plants by helping people make pocket prairies from their used jack-o-lanterns. Next week Phyte Club will not meet due to HAGPIE, but later in the week we will harvest the sweet potatoes and continue cleaning up our garden for fall. Phyte Club will resume Monday, November 12 from 3:15-4:15 pm. Meet in the Big Room and dress for the weather.

Panorama Education Survey
This is happening Wednesday. Let me know if you have any questions.
Dear Linworth Families,
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. As you may already be aware, building our well-being and social-emotional learning skills is an important goal for our school this year and every year. Over the next few weeks, students will participate in several exercises to better understand these concepts and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves.
As we have done for the last four years, we will be asking for your child to reflect on his/her own mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey. The survey shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to complete and will be administered during a two-week window from 11/4-11/15.
We are partnering with Panorama Education, a third-party vendor, to support us in administering these surveys. The survey content will ask students in grades 3-12 to self-reflect on Sense of Belonging, Self Management, Emotion Regulation, Social Awareness, and Supportive Relationships. Our students in grades 6-12 will also be asked to self-reflect on an additional topic, Cultural Awareness and Action.
During the 2023-2024 school year our District partnered with Battelle for Kids and a community design team consisting of students, families, community members, support staff, teachers, and administrators to create a Worthington Schools Portrait of a Learner. The Design Team worked to answer the following questions during that process, which led to our District Portrait of a Learner:
What are the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that our community has for its students?
What are the skills and mindsets our children need for success in this rapidly changing, and complex world?
What are the implications for the design of the learning experiences and equitable access to those experiences we provide in our school system?
Aligning our survey topics with our Portrait of a Learner Competencies and elementary and middle school Learner Profiles will help to support our work in building these competencies.
Student voice matters to us, and their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences in how we can improve and adapt our instruction to meet their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether.
If you have any questions about the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) survey, please don’t hesitate to contact us in the office at 614-450-6900.
Respectfully,
Principal Hasebrook
