Weekly Update

The boys Cross Country Team had a great summer of training. Running the 9th street bridge, the Nature Reserve, the Ocean City Boardwalk, and historic Holmdel Park. We were joined on some of our runs by alumni who are now competing at the collegiate level. Also, we were joined on a run by Gary Martin who attends the University of Virginia and is a Collegiate All American on a boardwalk run when he was in town on a local family vacation.

Band, Cheer, and Football united to kick off the fall season at the first annual Spirit BBQ! The event included a preview performance by the Marching Band and Color guard and the cheerleaders joined the band for a spirited performance of the fight song and sideline dance. Thank you to the program boosters for organizing and volunteering for the event! Go Eagles!

Girls tennis started the season off with wins over Hammonton 5-0 and Cedar Creek 4-1. New varsity players Sabina Giurca, Julie Denning, and Tamanna Panwala join returning starters Camille More, Demi Lu, Belina Zhang, Lily Ferriola, Kylee Biel, and Makayla Henderson in the line up.

Girls' volleyball completed two scrimmages this week against Cherry Hill West and Cedar Creek, respectively. Both matchups allowed the team to showcase their tremendous growth since last year. Our first game is Tuesday Sept 3 against rival Cedar Creek.

Previously, the team took 1st place at a preseason showcase tournament hosted by ACCC. Many local schools were in attendance, including Absegami, Pleasantville, and Oakcrest. Attached is a picture of the girls celebrating the big win.

Boys soccer has shown a lot of talent with a successful first few scrimmages. The boys open up Tuesday September 3rd at Millville.

Girls varsity soccer beat Cherry Hill West in their first scrimmage 3-1. Abby Mathis, Evelyn Brown and Brielle VonColln each scored a goal.

Girls JV beat Cherry Hill West 3-0.

First Scrimmage against Cherry Hill West saw a young field hockey team battle it out with a top group 3 team in south jersey. We lost 4 to 1. Our goal scorer was Avery Bird with an assist from new senior player Laura Mack who just started the sport 10 days ago and is fitting right in! We scrimmage vineland on Friday and look forward to our home opener next thursday against St. Joe.
