ECON TEAM MEETING
The Economics Team info meeting will be after school on Tuesday (9/10) in Mr. Oseland’s classroom (Room 240).
If you have any interest in economics, business, investing, finance, or entrepreneurship, and want to have a good time, consider attending.

Mounds View Youth in Government is having an info meeting after school on Wednesday (9/11) in the forum! New and returning members should attend to learn more about the 2024-2025 YIG season.

VOTER REGISTRATION
On Thursday (9/19) during class periods 3, 4, and all 4 lunches, stop by our table near the cafeteria to get registered to vote!
Anyone over 16 is eligible to pre-register to vote. Bring a driver license, Minnesota ID, or the last 4 digits of your social security number to pre-register. Democracy is not a spectator sport, so get civically engaged with your school community!

Join us for a "Night Under The Stars"! Concessions will be available. If you are bringing a guest that does not attend MVHS, pick up a “guest form” in the attendance office. Guest tickets are $10 and MUST be purchased at the door—CASH ONLY. (No guest form-No entry-No refund)
Use the QR code to purchase your ticket, enter your student ID in the "Have a passcode? option." You can buy 1 or 2 tickets for this event. If you buy a ticket for another MV student, you MUST arrive and enter the dance with them.

VOLUNTEER HOURS: The North Oaks Hill Farm Historical Society is seeking volunteers to work in the food tent at its annual fundraiser at the James J. Hill Farm on Sunday (9/8). You can volunteer anywhere from 1-5 hours. The event begins at 3:00 PM, and volunteers are needed for all time slots. If interested, text Denise Fleming at 651-442-9901 with the hours you are available.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Applications, executive board applications and letters of recommendation must be received by Monday (9/9)!
MUSTANG POWER: Registration now for Mustang Power Fall Boys and Mustang Power Fall Girls. Sessions are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30-5:00 PM. Cost is $50.00. ULTIMATE FRISBEE: Registration closes on Wednesday (9/11) for the Fall Mounds View Ultimate season. Practices have already begun but it's not too late to join. Ultimate is an inclusive team sport (open to all genders) that will challenge experienced athletes but is welcoming to new players looking to break into athletics. PICTURE DAY - DON'T WEAR GREEN!
Picture Day is coming on Thursday (9/12) in the Main Gym. Get ready to say “cheese".
Students will be called to the main gym in alphabetical groups to have their pictures taken. If your student missed the "call to the gym", they should attend with another group to assure they are photographed for their student ID.
Students who are absent on September 12, will be photographed on Thursday (10/3) during all lunches.

PSAT / NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING EXAM
The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is Wednesday (10/9) or Thursday (10/17) at Mounds View High School.
This assessment is also the qualifying exam for juniors hoping to receive a National Merit scholarship or award. Registration closes on Friday (9/20). Cost for the exam is $25.00.

REGISTER FOR SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
Sign up is now open for Science Olympiad! Go to the Athletics and Activities page of the MVHS website to register. Sign up soon as spots might be limited. We will meet every Thursday morning at 7:50 AM, starting on Thursday (9/26).

AP EXAM REGISTRATION CLOSES FRIDAY (10/4)
If you intend to participate in an AP exam in May, complete your registration before the deadline on Friday (10/4). Completing the AP exam registration is a two-step process:
- Parents should login to the online SmartSchoolK12 payment system and submit payment for their student(s) exams online AND
- AP students need to enroll and join their AP class online in their College Board MyAP account.
Registration is NOT complete and AP exams cannot be ordered unless both steps 1 and 2 are completed.
If students have not done this in class and need a “join code”, email aptesting@mvpschools.org. Students in AP classes that start Monday (1/27) (2nd semester only AP classes) will register and pay for their 2nd semester only exams in January or February.

SENIOR YEARBOOK PORTRAITS
Complete the shared form no later than Tuesday (10/15) to indicate which senior portrait option you chose. Using David Bank Studios streamlines the process and provides consistency between pictures.
Options for Yearbook Senior Portraits:
- David Bank Studios will be on campus during lunches on Tuesday (11/5) for a free yearbook session. They will take 2-3 poses. The studio chooses the best photo and submits it to the yearbook staff. Sign up will open closer to the date. Purchase of the photo is optional.
- Book an appointment at David Bank Studios for your student’s yearbook photo before Friday (11/15). With this option, you may select the photo for the yearbook.
- Use school ID photo (NOT preferred due to quality for yearbook).
- Submit your own photo in .jpg format using this form by Tuesday (10/15). All photos are subject to editorial approval and must meet requirements.
