Dear Flower Valley Community,
I heard that our FVES Chorus and Instrumental Music students did a fabulous job last night. I am so sorry to have missed it. A special shout-out to all of our 4th and 5th grade performers for their hard work and dedication and to Ms. Kanowith and Mr. Kullberg for all of their work organizing this event for our community!
Please see a few end of year reminders below:
- If you are a family with an incoming kindergarten student, please complete the enrollment before the last day of school. During these uncertain budget times for MCPS, it is critical that our students are enrolled as early as possible.
- Our 5th grade promotion is June 12th at 5:30PM at Rockville High School. Please see information below about how you can volunteer to support this wonderful evening.
- All of our classes are holding fun end of year activities for students. Be sure to check out the grade level newsletters for more information.
- If your child has medication at FVES or will need medication next school year, please review the information below.
We are looking forward to finishing the school year strong! Have a wonderful weekend!
With Firefly Pride,
Dr. Fish

Our FVES Vision
Recognizing Pride Month
Every year in June, we recognize LGBTQ+ Pride Month. This is to honor the individuals who stood up against the harassment and persecution that LGBTQ+ individuals in our country were experiencing. This is what initiated protective laws and practices to ensure the equal rights and protections of all members of society. Let us take time to recognize and celebrate what every single individual brings to our school, our community, and the world. Additional information about Pride Month can be found at the links below.

End of Year Parent Survey: Your Voice Matters!
Your voice makes a difference in the work we do each and every day. We need your input to best reflect upon the current year and plan for the upcoming year. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey linked here. Since portions of the survey focus on individual student experiences, please complete one survey for each child attending FVES. Thank you for your input!

Kindergarten Enrollment Update
We are getting close to summer, so if you have not yet enrolled your incoming kindergartener, please do so as soon as possible. With the current budget situation in MCPS, they are closely monitoring our kindergarten enrollment to ensure our current level of staffing is appropriate. If you know of friends in the community with incoming kindergarteners, please let them know to enroll as soon as possible as well. This helps us better plan for next year. Once we have your enrollment information, we will be able to provide you with updates about opportunities to get to know the kindergarten teachers, play dates, class assignments, and so much more! Should you have any questions, please email Mrs. Sintetos at Catherine_G_Sintetos@mcpsmd.org or call 240-740-1780.
All of the details can be found on our school website linked here. Our next tours are June 5th at 8:00AM and 4:00PM.
Important Safety Message
Now that the warm weather is upon us, many of our students are out and about in the neighborhood. We have many children walking or riding their bikes to school, sports practice, and games, so please remain vigilant and drive slowly and attentivley in the neighborhood. We want to ensure our students remain safe.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing yet again. Please stop by to take a look to see if any of your child's long lost belongings can be found. :) All items remaining at the end of the year will be donated.
