Wentzville Rotary Club is accepting applications for the 2025 Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.
The program is held in Warrensburg, Missouri on the campus of Missouri Central University.
The Missouri RYLA Academy is a 4-day, 3-night leadership academy for diverse incoming high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who exhibit a heart for community service. Developed by some of Missouri's top professional educators and Rotarians from Districts 6040, 6060, and 6080, the curriculum is designed to identify and enhance the qualities of servant leadership for each participant, educate them on how to successfully implement a service project, and inspire them to live a lifetime of "Service Above Self." In addition, participants are introduced to the programs and values Rotary has to offer. Established in 1992, Missouri RYLA Academy has educated and inspired more than 2,500 students statewide. It is currently recognized as a model program for Rotary International, worldwide. For additional information go to this link: http://www.missouriryla.com/faq
Academy Dates
Session 1 — Sunday, June 22, 2025 - Wednesday, June 25, 2025
Session 2 — Sunday, July 13, 2025 - Wednesday, July 16, 2025
We have found over the years that the caliber of students selected by the local sponsoring clubs sets the overall tone of each session of the academy. Selecting the best students is KEY to the success of the program every year.
The primary goal of the Missouri RYLA Academy is to teach students how to develop leadership skills, as well as learn to develop a quality service project, following the Rotarian core values. We want to work with students who have hearts and minds focused on service. We want attendees who desire to be there, who will participate fully, and come home from the Academy ready to serve.
We leave the participant selection process up to each local sponsoring club.
Often, clubs rely on local school officials like principals, teachers or school counselors to recognize and select quality students for the club.
There is no grade point requirement, and no restrictions for Rotarian children or grandchildren. The Academy fee is paid for by the Wentzville Rotary Club.
Please complete this Application if you are interested. Deadline is April 15, 2025.
