MAKING TIME TO PRACTICE:

1. Set a schedule and alarms - don't "wait" for time to appear, make it happen

2. "Habit Stack" - attach practicing to something you already do (after dinner, before dinner, after video games, before school, etc...)

3. Practice at School - we're usually here after school for 10 - 20 minutes most days

4. Practice at School - use your WIN time to come practice

5. Join Pep Band & Practice Club - Thursdays after school (see below)

6th Grade:

7th Grade:

- Foundation Warm-Ups #2

- Songs: Dragon Lord (difficult parts) & Shout it Out (Themes)

- Quarter 1 Assignment Sheet

8th Grade:

- Songs: Celtic Air & Dance, Whirlwind, & Shout it Out (Themes)

Pep Band & Band Practice Club *ALL GRADES 6, 7, 8*

Band Practice Club meets on Thursdays after school until 4:40pm (students can take activity bus home). FULL SCHEDULE - HERE

At this club we will play for home basketball games whenever they are Thursdays, provide a chance to for older students to mentor younger students, and have a fun and relaxed environment to practice and have fun.

SP Middle School & High School "MEGA PEP BAND" Friday December 13

All Sun Prairie Band students are invited to be a part of the largest pep band on Friday December 13th. Students will stay after school, rehearse, eat pizza dinner, and then play at a SP East Basketball Game. SIGN UP BY NOVEMBER 25:

Instrument Rental Fees

Students using a school-owned instrument should now see a $50 yearly fee in their Infinite Campus account.

*Percussion fee is $25/year

6th Grade - Shirt Fee

• All new students to music (Band, Choir, & Orchestra) will see a $22 shirt fee in Infinite Campus.
• These shirts are our uniforms for all music classes for concerts (required)
• Once students outgrow their shirt, they can trade it in for a larger size

Central Heights Jazz begins on October 15th. It's open to any music students in 7th & 8th Grade.

Jazz Bands will rehearse:

• Two mornings/week from 7:30 - 8:15am on Tuesday & Thursday mornings.
• Rehearsals begin Tuesday 10/15 and we will end likely end of April.
• There will be no rehearsals Dec. 17 & 19

There will also be a handful of performances possibly including and limited to:

1. Central Heights Family Night, Wednesday January 31st
2. Sun Prairie Middle School Jazz Festival, Friday March 1st
3. Other TBD (school & community events)

CH Band Practice & Pep Band Club - Thursdays after school

Sun Prairie Honors Band

• 7th & 8th Grade Band students looking for a challenge should consider auditioning for the Sun Prairie Honors Band that meets on Saturday November 9th.
• Auditions are due by October 8th.
