- Many thanks to Dru Lindgren of FIND THE CAUSE who volunteered her time to speak to students and adults here at MRHS during yesterday's Jawsome Hour about the toxins/carcinogens in everyday products we use and how to avoid them. Animal Welfare club visits HES & CES
Last Friday, some members of the Animal Welfare Club at MRHS visited second graders at HES as part of the second-grade animal unit!! After our visit at HES, we traveled to CES to speak to first, second, and third graders!! The club taught students about pet care (dogs, cats, fish, horses, bunnies, etc.) and how to approach these animals when they're not their own pets. We talked to students about adopting pets, visiting the vet, and why declawing cats is cruel. We also encouraged them to collect needed items for shelters, to check YouTube to learn about Pet CPR, and to treat their pets by the "Golden Rule." Many thanks to the teachers who invited us: Kristin G. and all the second-grade teachers at HES, as well as Oona Melanson, Allie Howell, and Margaret Turco at CES. A big shout out to Tim Doyle for driving us in a school van that day!
Diversity Club attended Connection Conference
Last Friday the Diversity Club joined students from 70 different Massachusetts schools for the Connection Conference at Sutton High School. The students attended several break-out sessions addressing diversity. They won a trivia game and listened to an amazing speak, Kai Shappley.
