School Board Notes

A very special thank you to Paige Sorgini for representing Arcola Intermediate School as a Junior Board Representative for March 2024. Paige delivered a statement about what makes Arcola such a wonderful school.

Congratulations to our Spirit of Methacton Award Recipients!

This new award is presented each month to professional staff, support staff, a student, and a volunteer in each building. Spirit of Methacton Award recipients are individuals who consistently model the qualities of the 9 core values of the Methacton School District. These individuals enrich our school community with their knowledge, commitment and support.

March 2024’s awardees represent Arcola Intermediate School. They are:

• Mark Mueller, School Counselor
• Kristen Schooley, Title I Math Aide
• Veronika Kozak, Student
• Lisa Bruno, Arcola Home & School Association Treasurer

The Board has re-appointed Ms. Semira Perdue as the Methacton School District board representative on the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Board for a three-year term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.

At the March 26, 2024 voting meeting, the Board approved the administration to prepare recommendations for a comprehensive High School campus plan that:

• Engages the Board approved Architect, Owners Representative, and Solicitor;
• Provides no less than 3 concept designs with estimated costs, timelines, and impact for a new high school;
• Provides for public input on concept designs;
• Provides recommendations and feedback to be presented at a special meeting in the future.

All other items listed in the March 26, 2024 agenda were approved.

The Methacton School District's Board of School Directors meets each month. School board work session meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month, followed by the regular meeting on the fourth Tuesday (except during the month of December). Regular Board and Work Session meetings typically take place in the Arcola Auditorium, and all residents are invited to attend. Committee meetings take place in the MHS LGI. Meeting agendas are posted to Agenda Manager, and start times and locations are posted on the District's website. Please confirm meeting time and location before attending.
