Plympton Family Update
January 31, 2025
From the Plympton Admin Team
Dear Families,
The Harlem Wizards arrived in Waltham today! We had a visit today from "Dragon" who dazzled us with his Basketball skills! Come out tonight and support our teachers in a great game of basketball.
To buy tickets visit: https://www.harlemwizards.com/tickets/waltham. Make sure to select our school name from the drop down as your school of choice so that our PTO receives a portion of the ticket price. Ms. DeMeo and Ms. Cercone will be representing Plympton on the court!
We have had some students and families reach out with concerns about things they are hearing in the news. We have also been experiencing an increase in absences. Iām incredibly grateful for the continued reassurance regarding safety and belonging staff is providing to our students.
During times of uncertainly, reminders about how we can be kind and thinking about other perspectives is important. Our librarian, Mrs. Halley, created a slideshow with a list of books related to being an upstander -picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels. This can be used as a gentle way to have conversations about being kind and using kind words.
As a reminder, our doors at school are always locked and all visitors must be buzzed in the building.
Here are some resources for families:
Plympton's Family Liaison: Evely Amezquita - available for phone calls 781-314-5760 (English and Spanish speaking)
The Welcome Center - housed at McDevitt Middle School
Waltham Partnership for Youth
