Warm Wishes for the Holiday Break and New Year
Dear CCPS Families,
As the holiday season approaches, I would like to extend heartfelt wishes to you and your loved ones. I hope this festive time brings joy, warmth, and cherished moments of togetherness.
The conclusion of the year is an opportunity for reflection on the accomplishments and growth we've witnessed within our school community. Your ongoing support, dedication, and resilience have played a crucial role in creating a positive and thriving environment for our students.
As we look forward to the new year, let us embrace the promise of fresh beginnings and exciting opportunities. The challenges we face only strengthen our commitment to providing the best possible education for every student in our care. Together, we will continue to foster a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment.
I am grateful for the partnership we share with each family in our district. Your involvement and collaboration contribute significantly to the success of our students and the overall well-being of our school community.
May the holiday break be filled with happiness, relaxation, and special moments with loved ones. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

CCPS Selected as Host for Exemplary Literacy Learning Lab
Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) named CCPS as Literacy Learning Lab for the state of Maryland in excellence in literacy programming. MSDE would like to showcase the work that we are doing to improve literacy instruction, specifically the intervention and support structures and systems that have been put in place for struggling readers in grades 4-8. Data has shown that CCPS is among the top 5 districts in the state. Thank you to Sherry Eichinger-Wilson, Rhonda Asplen, and our outstanding teachers who have helped put this structure into place.
