Spring Book Fair
Our Scholastic BOGO Free Book Fair is quickly approaching. We will be hosting our EOY Book Fair the week of May 19th-May 23rd. We will be open each day from 7:45-4:00, if you would like to shop with your child. In addition, we will open from 4:00-5:00 and 6:30-7:00 on family night, 5/22. I will be sending a schedule out soon with your child's preview & shop time. Be on the lookout! If you are interested in signing up to help during the fair, we would love to have you! Wake Up and Read, Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader is Coming to Our School!
We are thrilled to announce that Vandora Springs is a proud partner school of the Wake Up and Read program for the 2025–2026 school year! Thanks to the generous support of the WakeEd Foundation, every student in Pre-K through 5th grade will receive 5 FREE new or gently used books of their choice to help build their home libraries and encourage a love of reading.
Students will get to "shop" for their books in the media center during their Media special in the first week of June.
To make this exciting event a success, we need your help!
We are looking for volunteers to:
Help with setup on Friday, May 30th
Assist students and restock books throughout the week of June 2nd-June 6th from 8:45-2:45.

Theatre Camp for Rising 6th Graders
On June 17, Garner High Drama will host a Theatre day camp for rising 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. I am excited to share this opportunity with you for your current 5th grade students! If you could, please share the following information with your students' families. (This camp is also perfect for your staff members with middle school aged children, who need childcare for the last teacher workday of the year.) Thank you for your support!
Who: For rising 6th - 9th graders
When: Tuesday, June 17 8am - 5pm
Where: GMHS Auditorium (2101 Spring Drive)
Cost: $40 per camper which includes pizza lunch, two snacks, and a t-shirt
I will be leading the camp along with my volunteer high school theatre students. The camp will include ensemble activities, theatre warmups, and script writing. The day will conclude with a showcase performance at 4:30 for parents and families.

Book Buddy Program
The SchoolStore Program is 100% online so there is NO face-to-face selling, handling money, or delivering products. Your participation will take less than 12 minutes, and there are exciting prizes to make it fun for the students.
Here is all you need to do to participate:

2. Send form emails inviting family, friends and co-workers to support your child.

Free Health Screenings
Wake County Public Libraries is partnering with Advance Community Health to bring vital healthcare resources directly to the community. From April to August, Advance Community Health will provide free health screenings and resources through weekly visits at 11 library locations across the county. The screening dates for Southeast Regional Library in Garner are:

In-person application events for free, high-quality Pre-K
Families can apply in person at one of four events to be held this spring. Participants also can receive a free screening to assess your child's developmental and academic abilities. Children must be 4 by Aug. 31 and live in Wake County to qualify. The full schedule and details are posted on our website. Families can apply online anytime at wakesmartstart.org.
