The Energy Bus!!
Be the Best!!!
"The Energy Bus" - Jon Gordon
It's been quite the challenging last few years, to say the least, with more disruptions and distractions dished out by both COVID, politics and society than at any other time in recent history - let's not forget, however, the positive lessons we have learned along the way. My challenge to all of us is to continue to dig deep, model positive energy and patience to help our students and staff push through these challenging times and keep focus on what matters - relationships and citizenship.
Below are the highlights and a preview of our book study "The Energy Bus" -
1. You're the driver of your "bus" (life). It's far too easy to let factors outside of our control be barriers. Take control of the factors you can influence and don't dwell on those you can't.
2. Desire, vision, and focus move your bus in the right direction.
3. Fuel your ride with positive energy. Positivity is contagious. Spread it.
4. Invite people on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead. Don't let the "Negative Nelly" or the "Energy Vampire" bring you down. Be a Believer!
5. Don't waste your energy on those who don't get on your bus. They will naturally find their way on if it's worth getting on.
6. Make it clear that on your bus there are "No Energy Vampires Allowed" (no negative Nellys) and make your decisions based on your best passengers.
7. Enthusiasm and positivity attract more passengers and this energizes them during their ride. Be the engine of hope and positivity when all else seems hopeless.
8. Show love and care for your passengers. Relationships are everything.
9. Drive with purpose. Communicate your purpose early and often...and again.
10. Have fun and enjoy the ride...it's a short one.
I'm a firm believer in these ideas and what we choose to focus on most definitely impacts our mindset and our school climate.
Enjoy the ride, remember to smile often, show gratitude, and tell your loved ones you love them often.
