The Cardinal Way
Sharing and Learning at Southport High School
Leading and Learning:
Ryan Holiday, in his book, reminds us, “We are restless because deep in our hearts, we know now that our happiness is found elsewhere, and our work, no matter how valuable it is to us or to others, cannot take its place. But we hurry on anyway and attend to our business because we need to matter, and we don’t always realize we already do.” I can be the poster child for this quote. I invest a great deal in my work. Countless hours are spent for the betterment of people around me, and I can sometimes place my self-worth in that work. I know that my value does not come from the work, yet, my driven behavior leads me to the work. I can lose sight of what really matters as I continue to pour everything I have into the job. Has that work been beneficial to me and others, absolutely! But, it is not the purpose.
Be a Cardinal; Change Lives; Put a Mission into Motion

Congratulations to Mr. Maupin and the Marching Band for a great season that ended this past weekend at Lucas Oil Season!

Grateful Friday Challenge 🎉
Hello, Friday! Thanks for visiting again! We have missed you, and even though we just came off a two-week break, we are looking forward to seeing your friends on Saturday and Sunday.
This time of year, there is so much going on. MLB is winding down, the Colts are making some changes to see if they can get on a roll, midnight madness has happened, and the Pacers are tipping off their season. Our own Southport Cardinals kick off their postseason in Sectionals next week. Balls are bouncing in the gyms, wrestlers are preparing to hit the mats, and laps are being swum in the pool. It seems like everywhere you look, it’s game time.
So today’s #SHSGFC is a little play on the idea of getting into the competition. Here is a link to a Kindness Game that you can try to complete. How many do you think you can get? Can you get them all? Or maybe just four in a row? You are really playing against yourself, but in the end, we all win by being kind.
With banners flying as we go…
