Term 4 Week 6 - Thursday 16 November, 2023
Term 2, Week 8- Thursday 6 June 2024
Prayer
Father,
You sent your Word to bring us truth
and your Spirit to make us holy.
Through them we come to know the mystery of your life.
Help us to worship you, one God in three persons,
You reveal yourself in the depths of our being,
by proclaiming and living our faith in you.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.
Amen

Behaviour Management
Currently we have a whole school focus on following school and class rules, wearing uniform correctly and general use of manners. Our teachers can spend a great deal of time dealing with these issues which then takes away from important teaching and learning time.
Managing student behaviour is the key to successful classroom outcomes. We need to support our students by proactively teaching them clearly what behaviour is expected of them and how it will help them to succeed. When our rules or routines are broken or not followed the students will have a consequence to help remind them of our expectations. Currently this consequence is time out at recess or lunch time. For more serious issues, leadership will be involved, and parents informed. It is also important to note that our teachers are using a range of extrinsic and intrinsic rewards to encourage and value good behaviour.
The targeted whole school approach has so far had a positive effect in the classroom with our staff reporting less interruptions and more time on task. If parents/carers could reinforce the importance of this at home with your children, it would be greatly appreciated. I thank you for your support as we work in partnership to assist the students in achieving positive outcomes.
Berry Street Education Model Professional Development
On Tuesday this week our staff participated in Day 1 of the Berry Street Education Model Training(BSEM). The BSEM will assist our staff in gaining practical classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students. The model also helps schools support students’ self-regulation, relationships and wellbeing to increase student engagement. The Berry Street Education Model is part of our wellbeing strategy and will sit alongside the URStrong initiative we have already started. The BSEM training comprises of 4 days and will be completed early in 2025.

Both parents have been sent the email, however if you are happy to operate just one login for both parents, you don’t need to set up the second one. Kindy reports are sent home with the children and are not available on SEQTA Engage.
Please check your access now and contact the office if you have any problems. Don’t wait until the last week of term to check.
