From the Principal's Office
I hope this change of season has found you safe and healthy!
We have a full spring ahead with our CAASPP testing (SBAC), and preparations for 5th promotion, Kindergarten promotion, and our final Spirit Week in May!
Please be on the lookout for more information from our office about all upcoming events!
Thank you and here's to a strong finish of our school year!
Warmly,
Principal Manning
Spring Break (March 28-April 1, 2022)
We hope that the students have an opportunity to unplug from their screens and tablets for a while and enjoy the company of their families or friends.
In order to keep students' brains engaged and sharpened, each student will be gifted a BrainQuest workbook to keep with them throughout Spring Break.
The workbooks are divided into sub-sections (reading, writing, math, phonics, etc). We recommend that students complete a few pages of each subsection per day, and allow you (or their other adults) to review the pages and make corrections, if necessary.
COVID Tests (Round 2)
We are encouraging families to save this test until the Sunday night or Monday morning of our first day back (April 4, 2022).
Please test your scholar before they arrive back to school on April 4th.
Thank you for helping us stop the spread of COVID19!
CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress)/ SBAC
This year, grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in a computerized assessment of their knowledge in reading/language arts, math, and science.
The dates are as follows:
-5th Grade Science (April 18-22)
-3rd, 4th, 5th English/Language Arts (May 2-6)
-3rd, 4th, 5th Math (May 9-13)
Attendance is going to be critical for all of our students during these testing windows. We will have incentives for students who arrive on time every day during the SBAC.
We will also have village discussions and share ideas on how to prepare for the subject tests, as well as how to stay focused and energized during the exam.
Hint: Stamina is key! Students can spend 30 minutes per day reading and thinking about their reading as an EXCELLENT way to prepare for the SBAC!
5th Grade Promotion!!
Students and families have already met with Mr. Aguda to discuss how scholars will earn points that will allow them to participate in all of the promotion activities (Principal's Luncheon, Class Field Trip, etc).
Please be on the lookout for further information about our promoting 5th grade class activities!
Kindergarten Promotion!!
Please look forward to further information from Ms. Albright about this exciting and precious moment!
