Principal Update
Thank you all for the cards, flowers, plants, and thoughtfulness this week. I feel fortunate to have found my way to Moran Prairie and am beyond appreciative of the community in which I get to work. THANK YOU!
Updates & Reminders
- Please remember that students cannot arrive to school before 8 am. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria beginning at 8 am, and we have staff supervision for outdoor line-up starting at 8:15 am. We do not have staff to supervise students before 8 am.
- Remember to donate gently used clothes and shoes to our Blue Bin by the bike racks. These donations benefit many in our community that are served by the Northwest Center. If you are doing some spring cleaning, thinking of donating clothes from home, please consider donating to our blue bin!

Teacher Appreciation Week May 6th - 10th
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th through the 10th. We have many optional ways that families can show their support of teachers this week, or you can find your own ways! See below for the different events and activities PTG is putting on for teachers as well as some suggestions for families.
Weed Spray
This is to inform you that weed and grass control spray will be applied to the shrub beds and mowing strips at our school on Wednesday May 7th. A variation of this schedule may occur as a result of inclement weather. This spray is to control unwanted grass and weeds in the shrub beds, around the trees and along the street curb areas. Our school has taken steps to keep school children away from the tree and shrub bed areas for 24 hours. We would like to ask that you and your children refrain from using these same areas during that period of time. Thank you!

Annual State Testing
This year, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will continue to participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The purpose of the Smarter Balanced Assessment is designed to measure students' proficiency in English language arts/literacy and mathematics. Assessment results provide educators with data to help improve teaching and learning, plus check learning milestones to students’ college and career readiness by high school graduation. Along with the ELA and math, 5th graders will complete the science assessment.
If you know your child has an appointment on one of the grade level testing days, please let the teacher know to help assist in scheduling of any missed assessments.
