2nd Quarter
* Moore Street School is ecstatic to announce that our graduation rate for 2024 is 92%. The Class of 2024’s overall four-year graduation rate was 94.3! At 92% for Moore Street School and 94.7% for Dublin High School, both high school graduation rates were well above the state average of 85.4%
*Parent-teacher conferences are being conducted Monday, October 21st, through Friday, November 1st. Parents please make every effort to keep your scheduled appointment. If you need to reschedule don't hesitate to reach out. It is our goal to maintain 100% for parent/teacher conferences. See flyer below for more details
* This week we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each day we have a theme to combat drugs. See flyer below for more details.
* October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We want to acknowledge one of our very own for being a 2 time survivor of breast cancer. Mrs. Priscilla Walden is the embodiment of a warrior and a true survivor! She was also the recipient of the $50 prize for having perfect attendance for the first 4 1/2 weeks of the school year. See pictures below.
* Make-up dental screening has been scheduled for Monday November 4th at 1:30 p.m.
Dublin City Schools will implement a soft opening to Irish Healthcare (a School-Based Health Center). Housed on the Moore Street campus, Irish Healthcare will be a fully functioning health clinic that provides a variety of mental and physical healthcare services. This initiative, in collaboration with Medical Center, LLP, aims to provide our students with easy access to high-quality healthcare directly on campus.
The SBHC will offer a range of services, including but not limited to:
Early identification and treatment of injuries and diseases,
Acute care,
Immunizations and vaccinations,
Behavioral health assessment and counseling,
Lab testing,
Dental services including fluoride treatments and cleanings,
Sports physicals,
Referrals to medical sub-specialists as needed.
The school-based health center will accept most insurance plans. However, no child will be denied services due to a family’s inability to pay.
* Parents, we want to ensure you that safety remains our 1st priority here at Moore Street School. If you need to visit the campus for any reason please adhere to our safety protocols. Every person will be required to clear the medal detectors before entering the building.
* Attendance continues to be an area of focus. Parents if your child is not in Tier 1 of the DCS attendance protocol we will resume attendance recovery this week.. Students will be required to recover attendance in Evening School. The days/hours are Monday-Thursday 2:15-5:15 p.m.
* "Using achievement data to inform instruction will continue to be our focus during the 2nd 45 days. Our goal is to provide the students with multiple opportunities to engage with the standards.
* Moore Street School continues to celebrate Mr. Jeffrey Puckett for being selected as the 2025 Teacher of The Year and Mrs. Stefanie Wright for being selected as the 2025 Support Staff of The Year. They will be recognized at the football game on Friday October 25, 2024. See photo below.
* Parents if your child is not on track academically they should be taking advantage of evening/after school. Evening/after school meets Monday-Thursday from 2:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Bus transportation is available and a meal is served each day. Monday and Wednesday math and science is the focus. Tuesday and Thursday English and Social Studies is the focus.
*We have 2 family engagement activity scheduled for the month of October, parent teacher conferences and math night. Family engagement activities are great ways for you to get involved in your child's academic progress. These sessions provide information, strategies, and hands on opportunities for the whole family. See flyers below with more details for each event.
