A Message From Mr. Johnson
Arrival/Dismissal Plan
Please help us keep this routine safe and smooth for our students and you! Follow the directions below and drive with the utmost care! It is a guarantee that we have children in close proximity! Let's keep them safe! Thank You!
Parent Drop-off (morning) from 9:15am-9:30am:
Drop your child off curbside and exit safely and immediately. We have staff supporting arrival and dismissal procedures for all students and especially for our youngest learners.
**Students may enter Door 4 (bussers/walkers) and Door 1/8 for breakfast at 9:05am.
Parent Pick-up (afternoon) from 4:01pm-4:08pm (map below):
All K-1st grade students (and their siblings) are to be picked up at Door 8 (Polk Street).
All 2nd-5th grade students are to be picked up at Door 1 (Main Entrance).
Walkers will exit out of our north Doors 4 and 6.
Bus Riders/Daycare Vans - expect that students riding the bus will be home later than their assigned drop off time the first few weeks. School staff and transportation staff will be going a bit slower to ensure students get on their correct buses and get off at their correct stops.
A+ Plus students will walk directly to the cafeteria for afternoon check-in.

Johnsville Jaguar PTO
We welcome you to our PTO meetings every third Tuesday of the month (usually). The goal of the organization is to support our students and staff. The support offered comes from the success of two major fundraisers: Boosterthon (September 16-24) and Heggies Pizza (February).
The funds raised go towards the financial support of field trips, teacher wishlists, and events like Family Fun Night, School Carnival, Science Fair, and Track & Field. Next meeting is Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30pm in our Media Center. If you are interested or would like more information, please reach out to: johnsvillepto@gmail.com
PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Johnsville Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, parent and teachers. The organization will not seek to control administrative policy of the school but may offer input.

NEW…Connections: Student Mentorship Program
Johnsville Elementary is one of three elementary schools piloting a mentorship program called
Connections. The purpose of the program is to focus on fostering relationships through quality
engagement between students and volunteers. This program requires in-person training and a
background check. If you are interested, please reach out CLICK HERE.
Enrichment Programs
Seeking volunteers who are interested in leading any of the following programs for the 2024-2025 school year. Online training is available. Please contact Jenni Kulseth if you are interested. (Training is required)
Challenge Reading
Volunteers provide children with additional opportunities to foster a love of reading outside of the classroom by introducing various genres of literature, extending students' writing connections, and promoting higher level thinking skills. Like a book club! This occurs outside of school hours, usually after school.
Math PLUS
The purpose of the Math PLUS is to provide additional, on-going mathematical experiences for students in grade K-5. Students participate in math activities that reinforce problem solving, logic and reasoning, and communicating mathematical findings. This makes math learning fun! This occurs outside of school hours, usually after school.
Skillbuilders
This volunteer program is comprised of a variety of activities that volunteers can practice with students one-on-one in the classroom while reinforcing the skills that classroom teachers have already introduced to kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders through lesson plans, including: Reading aloud, tracing the alphabet, sorting and finding letters, listening to sounds, and counting and building number recognition.
Remember to fill out the Volunteer Application Forms for the 2024-25 school year, and to be notified when opportunities become available throughout the school year: Volunteer at Johnsville Elementary

Attendance at School
Warm weather, cold weather, warm weather - we continue to have viruses flying around, flu symptoms rearing themselves, and allergies on the rise. We want your children at school but if they are sick (fever, throwing up, diarrhea, etc.) keep them home. Be sure to call our attendance line at (763) 506-3006 so that we mark them with an excused absence. If you do not call our attendance line, the absence is considered unexcused.
Once your child is not running a fever, hasn't thrown up for a 24 hour period, and is feeling better, send them back to school! Thank you! Stay healthy and strong!
