BEAR MAIL
Friday May 2nd.
Hello BCE Community,
Thank you to all that came to Open House. It was so great to see the classrooms so full and all the excitement in the kids showing off all their hard work. The kids really shined in the music performances. Thanks to Mr. G for the great music performance! A great big Thank You to Michelle Childs, Mellisa Chavez, Sarah Bartos, and Jennifer Wildermuth-Reyes for helping put on the Art Show, Dawn and Ebin Harker for supporting with Garden, 4th grade families and Parent Club for putting on the food and bake sale. The night was so fun and so thankful so many parents could make it.
A big thank you to Mellisa and Sarah for doing the new parent club bulletin board. What a welcoming way to enter BCE.
We had another exciting week at BCE. Talent show was amazing! BCE really has TALENT!! Just love seeing the kids share a new way to perform and be themselves. Thank you to Mr. Keasey and Mrs. Jaime for all the organization and helping out BCE Bears shine.
It is that time of year to get your feedback on classroom environments for your students for next year. Below is a Google Form to complete if you wish. Please note that we do not take specific teacher name requests. Classroom assignments are not ready till right before school. We will do our very best to take your suggestions into account when building classes, but we also have to look at the big picture of the entire school.
We are starting State testing next week for our 3rd-5th graders. Please help us by ensuring students get a good nights sleep, have time for a good breakfast and arrive each and every day. Make ups are really challenging for both students and staff, so any effort you can do, to ensure they are at school would be so helpful.
Have a great weekend, 24 days till the end of the year :)
Gerri Fippin
Principal, BCE

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
Support our Bear Paw Store!
Our students work hard every day and are rewarded with Bear Paws.We have a Bear Paw Store about every 4-6 weeks. Our last Bear Paw Store is May 30th. If you are able, please consider purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List. Donations are appreciated!
Bear Wear!!!
We wear Bear Wear on Fridays!! Get your Bear Wear here to join in on the school spirit.
PBIS
Positive Behavior Support will continue to be a major focus for BCE this year. Our focus is on the BCE Way - Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We give out Bear Paws for making good choices. Bear Paws will be used like cash at the Bear Paw student store. Our first Bear Paw Store was today! Students had a lot of fun! Ask your BCE Bear how they earned Bear Paws.
