I want to take a moment to wish each and every family a wonderful holiday break. This week, Dr. Gordon visited Fox Ridge, and amidst the excitement of spirit week and the preparations for the holiday season, teaching and learning continued in full swing. He was impressed with what he observed and especially enjoyed visiting our 4th and 5th-grade classrooms.
I also had the opportunity to spend time in classrooms and observe small group instruction. Our kindergarten students were featured in a D303 Facebook post—some of their photos are included above. Additionally, our student council embraced the spirit of giving in two meaningful ways: they organized a food drive and raised over $130 in just one hour for the Salvation Army through their bell-ringing efforts a few weeks ago.
This week, our Books Between Bites group finished reading Out of My Mind, and we celebrated by watching the movie together. It was such a wonderful opportunity to connect with our 4th and 5th graders. Mr. Nassis and I truly enjoyed the experience.
Finally, I wish you the very best over the next two weeks with your families. This is a time I personally cherish as many of my kids return home from college. Happy Holidays from the Woodring Family! (The photo above is from last weekend at the Army/Navy football game).

PE News
We had a great month in PE. Students had lots of opportunities to work together creating holiday scenes, focusing on fitness and games through the railyard, and working together to build and ride winter sleighs with much delight. In January we will focus on the heart and the cardiovascular system as we look forward to having the Heart Adventure Course here at Fox Ridge.
Thank You PTO!
