Where is GATE taking us?
March Standards
GS4 Students will develop affective attributes to build their motivation and enjoyment of complex challenges.
Curriculum
This month, students will embark on our 4th-quarter unit, Olympics of the Mind. The unit will begin with a self-assessment activity designed to help students identify their dominant intelligences. This exercise will provide them with an opportunity to reflect on their personal strengths and areas for growth across various intelligence domains:
(Visual-Spatial/Verbal Linguistic/ Interpersonal/Intrapersonal/ Bodily Kinesthetic/ Logical Mathematical/ Musical/ Naturalistic/ Existential/ Self-Awareness/ Self-Management/ Social Awareness/ Relationship Management) allowing them to set goals for further development throughout the unit. Students will also engage with the creative thinking GATE strategy: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration (F.F.O.E.), which will serve as a foundational approach for the activities ahead.
We encourage you to observe your child's natural interests and strengths. By providing diverse experiences that engage different intelligence areas, such as music, art, movement, logic, language, social interaction, self-awareness, and connection to nature, you can support their holistic growth. Incorporating a variety of activities and encouraging exploration across these domains will help foster a well-rounded development.
