Hello Tamarack Families!
I hope to see you all here Thursday evening at 5:30pm for our Art & Culture Night, Amelia's food truck will be on the cafeteria side. We will post the order of performances for the talent show outside the gym. The gym will be designated as a quiet space (no running/playing) in order to support our amazing & brave student performers!
Our next newsletter will be in the new year! I hope you enjoy a cozy Winter Break:)
The Tamarack Gear (Swag) Shop is open!
Check it out: https://tamarackelementary.itemorder.com/shop/home/
Your orders will arrive in batches at the school and will be delivered to your child's classroom/backpack to go home as they are accumulated and printed-no shipping costs. I will also place this gear shop link (created a local company, Horizing Up) on our school website under the Communtiy Group tab. Go Otters!
Learn more about the Hillsboro School Foundation- and their annual fundraising gala!

Learn more about HSF here, as well as the up and coming fundraising gala taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at NW Events & Environments. https://hsfonline.org/annual-gala-auction/
School/District Budget Notes
Please take some time to review HSD’s 2025 Legislative Advocacy Packet (Spanish) to learn more about the history of school finance in Oregon and its impact on the Hillsboro School District specifically. This document is posted on the Budget Matters page of our District website to support your understanding on how individuals and groups can advocate for schools!
Too Sick for School
Too Sick for School guidelines (linked here) can help determine the disposition for the student. According to Washington County’s Epidemiologist, Pertussis is being seen in record numbers this year, surpassing the previous record set in 1953. Also, here is some great information from the CDC specifically for Pneumonia and flu and how to stop the spread.
Need support over the Winter Break, we got you!
