Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of our School Communities,
Can you believe it? We're down to the final stretch with just 8.5 days left in the school year! Excitement is buzzing as we inch closer to summer, but let's remember the importance of staying consistent until the last bell rings. Maintaining our year-long routines and structures is critical to ensuring a smooth and successful closing for all our students.
To add to the excitement, we're thrilled to announce the Yard Art displays brought to you by our talented Friends of Visual Arts (FoVA) students! These creative masterpieces will be showcased throughout the district. Be sure to check out the map below to find where you can view these fantastic works of art.

We are thrilled to announce that four outstanding community members have been honored with the prestigious NCTA 2024 Awards, highlighting their dedication, passion, and educational contributions.
Honor Award Nominee: Laura Tolman
Laura Tolman of Little Mustangs Preschool was nominated with the Honor Award for her exceptional work and commitment to early childhood education. Her innovative approaches and unwavering dedication have significantly impacted our youngest learners.
Services Award Nominee: Katie Buckley
Katie Buckley from Callahan School is a Services Award nominee for exemplary service and dedication to the school community. Katie's efforts have created a supportive and nurturing environment for students and staff.
Rookie of the Year Nominee: Alyssa Kelly
Alyssa Kelly from Oldham School was nominated for Rookie of the Year, a testament to her remarkable talent and enthusiasm in her first year of teaching. Alyssa's fresh perspective and dedication have already made a lasting impression on her students and colleagues.
NCTA Future Educator Nominee: Lauren Reen
Lauren Reen, a senior from the Class of 2024, was nominated for the NCTA Future Educator Award. Lauren's passion for education and commitment to learning are inspiring, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow and contribute to the field of education.
Walter J. Hughes Award: Keira Haberlin
Keira Haberlin, from the Class of 2023, has received the Walter J. Hughes Award for her exceptional achievements and contributions during her time at Norwood. Keira's dedication and hard work have set a high standard for her peers and future students.

Bus Registrations opened on May 13, 2024 for the upcoming school year.
Changes for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
All Registrations will be Online. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!
Registration Period is from May 13 – June 30.
Payment methods available are American Express, Mastercard, Discover and Electronic Check. (Visa is not accepted)
Registration will Re-Open on October 1st (Space Available).
Only guarantee of seats is for Grades K-6 living over 2 miles from school.
All others are space available.
Bus passes will be available by the start of the school year.
Bus passes can only be issued by the Transportation Office.

School Committee Update
We are pleased to provide you with an update from our latest School Committee meeting. The most significant topic of discussion was the ongoing elementary building study. Various scenarios were presented during the meeting, highlighting potential improvements and changes for our elementary school facilities. This study is a critical step in ensuring our students have the best learning environments.
We are committed to keeping you informed and involved throughout this process. The team will continue providing updates and will soon seek your valuable input. Your feedback is essential as we work together to shape the future of our elementary schools.
Additionally, please mark your calendars for June 12th, the date of our final School Committee meeting for the year. During this meeting, several departments will share reports summarizing their accomplishments and highlights from the past year. It promises to be an informative session, reflecting on our progress and setting the stage for continued success.

Juneteenth Event
Please mark your calendar and set a reminder for the second annual Norwood Juneteenth Celebration! The family-friendly celebration will include entertainment and games for the entire family. Get ready for great music, food, drink, dance, and more. The celebration will also have some appearances by Norwood students. Come together and celebrate this holiday that celebrates freedom. The celebration is on Saturday, June 15th, from 12:30-3:30 pm at the Town Common. The celebration will take place at the town common.
Updated COVID-19 Guidelines
Norwood Public Schools Adopts the New CDC & MA Department of Public Health Guidelines for Respiratory Illnesses
1. When you have ANY respiratory virus (Flu, COVID, RSV) - stay home and away from others while you have respiratory
virus symptoms. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.
2. Return to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, BOTH are true:
Your symptoms are getting better overall, AND
You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)
3. When you go back to your normal activities, take added precautions over the next 5 days, such as taking
additional steps for cleaner air, hygiene, masks, physical distancing, and/or testing when you will be
around other people indoors.
