Leyden presents The Music Man
Leyden High Schools Magna award-winning theatre program is proud to present their annual district musical, The Music Man, March 7-9, at 7 p.m. in the West Leyden auditorium.
Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy, The Music Man, has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and Leyden High Schools is so excited to bring this iconic musical to the Leyden stage. The Music Man is the story of Harold Hill, a fast talking salesman who cons the people of River City Iowa into purchasing instruments and uniforms for a band that he has no intention of leading. Harold’s big plan is to run off with the money that’s been collected, until he meets someone who convinces him to stick around and do the right thing.
Leyden’s rendition of The Music Man is one of our largest musicals to date and will feature student performers from our partner middle schools. The Music Man also features retiring Band Director and music teacher of 30 years, Bryan Miller, at the helm of our instrumental pit for his last Leyden musical. Leyden Music Department Alumni are encouraged to attend Mr. Miller’s last musical at Leyden before he retires this May.
Tickets for The Music Man are $10 for adults and $8 for students.
