Prayer Labyrinth

We are excited to invite you to join your child in experiencing our Prayer Labyrinth this week during our three-way conferencing. Our students will have the opportunity to experience the Prayer Labyrinth during classtime as well. A Prayer Labyrinth is a peaceful, winding path that encourages meditation and reflection. Unlike a maze, it’s designed to guide you to a central point and back out again, allowing for a thoughtful and contemplative journey.

As you walk the labyrinth, you can focus on your thoughts, intentions, or prayers, making it a meaningful way to connect with your child and explore spirituality together. We hope this experience enhances your time at school and fosters deeper discussions with your child.

EICS Board of Trustees Monthly Highlights - October 2024

The October 2024 Board of Trustees Monthly Highlights for Elk Island Catholic Schools is now available. This month’s updates include the Board's ongoing Faith Formation focus on the Gospel of John and our Rooted in Christ theme, along with Catholic Education Week celebrations and various school activities across the division.

3 Way Conferences

On Tuesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 7th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, teachers will be hosting 3-Way Conferences. This is an opportunity for the student, parents and teacher to engage in conversations around the strengths, areas of growth and next steps of the student.

We will have both in person and virtual opportunities in hopes this will provide more flexibility

for families. The last hour on Thursday will be virtual. The website to book the conferences opened last Monday, October 28, 2024 and will close on Monday, November 4.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Information:

Please Note: Due to conferences Mrs. Greschner and Ms. Stankey’s students will NOT have

classes on Friday, November 8th.

Insight Testing for Grade 4 Students

Insight is a group-administered test of cognitive abilities, which will be administered to all Grade 4, 7, and 8 classes in EICS in the middle of November. The assessment is designed to measure cognitive abilities including reasoning, comprehension, memory, and visual/auditory processing. Students do not need to study for the Insight and the results do not impact their school grades. The results provide information about students’ cognitive strengths and areas of weakness to best support and program for all learners. If you have any questions, please contact your school's Collaborative Response Coordinator Mrs. Carrie Belisle.

2023/2024 Yearbooks

The 2023/2024 yearbooks have arrived and we handed out to students who ordered them. Books will be sent to St. Theresa, OLPH, Madonna and Ardrossan for those students who are no longer at Holy Spirit.

We do have extra copies of the 2023/2024 yearbook. If you wish to purchase a copy for $25. Please contact the office at 780-416-9526.

Donations for Areas of Need

Consider making a donation to support students who are need due to family financial strain. To make a donation please sign into your PowerSchool Account to support Students in Need or school items for students. By making a donation your support will be used to benefit students in need and areas of need within Holy Spirit as determined by school needs and the administration. If you donate $25 or more you are eligible to receive a tax receipt.

School Fees

The 2024-2025 school year fees have been applied to your PowerSchool account. Detailed letters have been sent home and school Fees are due 30 days after they are posted. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Fee Waiver

If the back to school costs are feeling too much you may be eligible for our fee waiver. Please read more and if applicable complete the 2024-2025 Fee Waiver Application.
