4th Annual Little Einstein's Science Expo ~ Thursday, April 11th Invitation to Participate
Please be mindful that this activity is not mandatory, but it can promote a great deal of research skills along with confidence, knowledge and pride while learning about science topics. Children are encouraged to work in groups up to a maximum of 4 per group, partners or they can work independently. If working with others, it is crucial for the participants to coordinate dates for you to get together outside of school time. Everything your child needs to know about how to get started is in their Google Classroom account in the Science & Technology section. If your child needs a hard copy, please have them see Mrs. Muraca for a packet.

Have fun and stay tuned for possible dates of after-school times to stay and research, print out information and work on your projects. We will most likely only offer 2-3 (1hour sessions) so be sure to meet with your partner or group member's outside of school as well.

Happy New Year!
Before the holiday break and the first 3 days back in January, the Makerspace became the North Pole with electrical circuit activities, holiday lights and snap circuits, along with Take Apart items, Makedo Cardboard construction area for creating a reindeer pen for Rudolph and his gang, Lego Wall night sky and Make and Take table.
This week we are back in the Computer Lab:
5th Graders - Creating Google Slide presentations as travel consultant to research a destination and learning how to:
- use the various templates
- backgrounds
- transitions with the slides
- we are creating source information for the images used.
4th Graders - Creating Google Slide presentations - Simple Machines
Students are reviewing the Simple Machines and creating a google slide presentation while learning the following:
- select a theme
- insert title, subtitle on each slide
- insert bulleted lists
- insert a picture and give credit to the website source it came from
- insert a drawing or shape from computer tools
- view slide show
3rd Graders - Creating Google Docs about Pangolins.
Students are reviewing how to create a document in the Google Docs format. Last year, they learned how to create a word document using the Pages program on the TES computers. This lesson gives them practice learning the following:
- insert, align, underline, and bold text in a document
- change the font text, font size, font style and font color in a document
- change the indent spacing
- alter the line spacing of a paragraph
- create a bulleted list.
2nd Graders - Logging in to Google Doc Accounts
Students are learning to log in to their Google Accounts to use in school in order to efficiently work on projects across various devices. All usernames for 2nd grade students are in the following format:

1st Graders - Logging in to their Typing.com Accounts
Students are learning to log in to their www.typing.com accounts to learn the proper positioning of their hands and fingers for various touch typing skills. This program is FREE and accessible at home. It keeps track of your child's progress and gives them the sufficient practice in order to be successful at typing in order to be more efficient writers. Some things you can have your child work on.
