Registration for Consumer Education, both in-seat and online classes, is open through April 30 and
registration for credit recovery sessions I and II is open through May 31. Classes cost $95 per session.
Session I - Monday, June 9, 2025 to Thursday, June 26, 2025
8:00 a.m - 12:30 p.m.
*No classes Thursday, June 19
Session II - Monday, July 7, 2025 to Thursday, July 24, 2025

In person summer school classes are all held at East Leyden.
*Please note: Session I is intended for semester 1 courses, both credit recovery and enrichment.
Session II is intended for semester 2 courses, both credit recovery and enrichment.
The following credit recovery classes will be offered in both sessions in a classroom setting and are led by teachers: Algebra I, Biology, English I, Global Studies, and Physical Science. They are each worth .50 credit and cost $95. Daily attendance is required.
Leyden also utilizes an online curriculum format, provided by a company called Apex. Students are required to attend class on-site daily, and there is a teacher present to assist with facilitation, however students move through the course at their own pace. The students no longer have to be on-site once the course is successfully completed. The following classes are offered in this format for both sessions: Algebra II, Consumer Education, English II, III, IV, Geometry, Health, Physical Education and U/S History. They are each worth .50 credit and cost $95.
Registration
To register, visit MySchoolBucks.com or in-person at the East or West bookstores. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Fees apply to all courses, even those audited without credit. Refunds will only be issued if a course is canceled due to low enrollment. Bookstores are open on school days, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and they accept cash, credit cards, debit cards and personal checks.

Art teacher’s work featured at Griffin Museum of Science and Industry
Leyden art teacher and artist Anna Reed will have her work Hyper/In Visible featured in the Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry. This prestigious exhibition, which is the longest continuously running showcase of Black artists in the United States, has been a cornerstone of the Museum for over 55 years. Reed’s work explores the intersection of technology and humanity, examining themes of hypervisibility and invisibility in digital systems. Through a combination of photography and interviews, her pieces invite viewers to reflect on these issues by activating the works with light. Hyper/In Visible will be on display from January 20 to April 27, with the museum also offering a special Black Creativity Family Day on the opening day, featuring hands-on art activities for visitors.
