November Newsletter
November 2, 2023
Hello Parents and Guardians,
The weather outside is frightful, and we don’t want your students' grades or attendance reports to be anything like the weather. If you have not had a chance to download the PowerSchool app please take a minute to do that. PowerSchool is a great tool to keep you up to date on your students grades and attendance.
As the weather starts to change, and road conditions get worse we can see a typical dip in our attendance. We want students to get to school safely so please remind your young drivers to slow down when conditions are bad.
We collectively as administration want to encourage all students to be at school whenever possible. Please remember “Success is an accident. Showing up, even if it is just for 5 minutes, makes us accident-prone.”-Paul Budnitz.
Stay warm and please reach out to us if you have any questions that we could help with.

Associate Principal RRHS

HOSA
HOSA had a busy month this past October! Our chapter joined forces with RRHS Student Council and held a Cancer Awareness bake sale to raise money for Altru’s Filling the Gap Program where we sold items such as rice krispies, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. Collectively we raised over $375. On Monday, Oct. 23rd we had 29 HOSA members attend the HOSA Fall Leadership Conference at UND Lake Region in Devils Lake. RRHS HOSA members experienced different nursing simulations such as labor and delivery, injections, emergency response, and pediatrics. Students attending also learned about the Pharmacy profession and met other HOSA members from across the state. The RRHS HOSA officers participated in a leadership activity where they worked with other HOSA chapters and collaborated/shared ideas from their own chapters. It was a great way for our cabinet members to learn from each other and think of more ways to effectively lead. Lastly, we held our monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 25th. We introduced HOSA Bowl, one of the competitions at state. Our goal is to help students feel more comfortable with the competitions and hopefully encourage more members to attend. Veterans day is coming up shortly so during the meeting everyone created cards for retired Veterans thanking them for their service. They will be distributed at VSL on Columbia, Woodside and Edgewood in hopes to make Veterans Day a little more special for them.
