WHAT'S HAPPENING
Pay school fees online!
School fee information for the 2024-25 school year is now posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. To access your fee information, simply log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view your fees and pay them online. If you’re unable to pay your school fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived. The application deadline is Dec. 16, 2024.
NOTE: Don’t forget to also log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal regularly throughout the year. Fees are often added to your child’s account to cover the cost of various school activities such as field trips, class projects, extracurricular activities fees and more.
For more information, Ardrossan Jr. Sr. High School Fees visit the on the school website. Alternatively, contact Mrs.Cleet at Ardrossan Jr. Sr. High at 780-922-2228.
Student Drop Off/Pick up
Please remember that there is no vehicle access to our front parking lot between 8:20 and 8:40 am and 3:15 to 3:25 pm each day while the buses are dropping off and picking up students. We want to ensure student safety. Parents are asked to use the rear parking lot as the designated area for drop off and pick up. We have staff supervising the parking lot to ensure that students are crossing areas where there is vehicular traffic safely.
Junior High Students Must Remain on School Property
Junior high students are not permitted to leave school property during the school day, including during the lunch break. We recognize that students may want to visit the new businesses that have opened, but these businesses are far enough away that students cannot use the existing path to access them and have enough time to return to the school without being late. To reduce the travel distance and time, we are finding that students are walking along the edge of Range Road 222, which is a more direct route. This route is not safe for students, especially as winter approaches. We are working with the County of Strathcona to explore the possibility of a sidewalk being installed so that students can access the community in a safe manner, but until the time that a sidewalk is installed we must ensure student safety by continuing to require junior high students to remain on school property. The map below shows the areas where students may be outside the school building during the lunch break.

EIPS is committed to a productive and collaborative relationship with parents and caregivers. As such, the Division has a Committee of School Councils (COSC) comprised of representatives from school councils across EIPS. From October to May, COSC members meet monthly with the Board of Trustees and senior EIPS administration to discuss educational issues and trends, while sharing valuable information with one another to best enhance student success. In recognition of the effort and dedication of EIPS families and staff in engaging with their school communities, the Division was honoured to receive the Division School Council Engagement Award from the Alberta School Councils’ Association last April.
