Thank you for the support!
Greetings Webber Elementary Parents and Students,
Children are inherently curious and there are so many ways that we can leverage that desire. During these stages of development, we are in a unique position to support them in making sense of the world. Outside of school, many opportunities are natural, spontaneous, and do not require anything preplanned. Parents, as you are driving around or walking through the neighborhood, take advantage of those opportunities. Ask your children basic questions – about the aromas of fall, the restaurant billboards, the music on the radio – practically any topic can provoke a meaningful conversation. Trust me, those conversations pay dividends for your kids with their literacy skills, reasoning, and overall growth.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our food drive this week. The Webber community brought in an impressive number of items to benefit the Lake Orion Lions Club. Donations will be going to families in need within our community. Our other current initiative, the LOCS Book Drive, continues until November 22. If you're looking for any gear, the Webber Elementary Spirit Wear Store is open until Monday (November 18). It's a great option to consider as we approach the holiday gift giving season. Orders will be delivered prior to 12/3/2024.
Just as a reminder to our parents who are picking up, we have designated lanes for different grade levels. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade pickup should stay in the west (right) lane, and lower elementary (DK, K, 1st, and 2nd) will utilize the east (left) lane. Overflow should loop through the lower lot - please be courteous to those cars as they are merging back into the loop.
Keeping with our tradition, I look forward to seeing the Lions gear on victory Monday. Also, we strongly encourage students to wear Webber, Lake Orion, or P2 gear on Fridays!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Staff Recognition - Distinguished Dragon
Throughout the school year, if you would like to recognize a staff member from Webber, we encourage you to submit a Distinguished Dragon nomination. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at LakeOrionSchools.org/DistinguishedDragon. We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
