Greetings to our SouthLake Christian Community! We're touching base this summer to share some updates and valuable information about the latest happenings at SouthLake Christian for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. We eagerly anticipate the return of students to campus for the first day of classes on August 14. The school hours are as follows:

• JK-2: 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
• 3-5: 8:00 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
• 6-12: 8:00 a.m.-3:10 p.m.

Some revisions have been implemented to the 2024-25 academic calendar to ensure that our school provides the most robust educational experience for our community. The revisions encompass adjustments to the start/end dates of spring semester, a Teacher Workday in February, Learn & Serve Week, Senior Trip, Missions Week, and exam dates.

Caterpillar Ministries’ summer camps are starting shortly, and we need your help. Caterpillar has organized camps this summer, and SMF is providing snack bags each week. The camps start early July and last through mid August, five weeks total. To meet their need of forty snack bags each week, we need your help! In addition, SMF is in need of volunteers to pack and transport the bags every Wednesday starting Wednesday July 10. There are five spots available each week, and you will be paired with one of your leaders for support!! The sign up genius for packing and transporting the snack bags is attached below.

Students in grades JK-6 have the option of ordering school supply kits online from Bright Schools by Wednesday, July 17 and are guaranteed to be delivered before the first day of school. If you have any questions, please email Lower School Dean Nicole Baldwin.

2. All photography will take place on your campus in the gym. Both Casual & Formal photos will be taken.

Don't forget to bring your favorite casual outfit! If you plan on wearing our TUX: wear a white tee to go beneath the tux shirt.

Lower school class assignments will be sent closer to the week prior to the start of school. Middle and Upper School class schedules will be sent via email beginning in mid-July. If you have any questions about your schedule, you can fill out an electronic form through a link provided with the schedule.

SouthLake Christian has collaborated with Lands’ End Uniforms to develop a collection of uniforms that are not only comfortable and modest but also support an educational setting. Uniform items can be conveniently purchased online at www.landsend.com, where fitting guidelines are also provided.

2024-25 Dress Code

This year we have five bus routes that service the primary quadrants of the Lake Norman, Denver, and Charlotte area. Pick up and drop off times vary depending from stop-to-stop and route-to-route. Registration coming soon through Renweb.

2024-25 Transportation

Student-Athletes must have current paperwork before they can participate in sports.

What You Need to Do: (Instructions)

1. Create Your Free PARENT Account:
   • For first-time users or those with an existing account.
   • Use your own email address to create your parent account. We highly recommend using a desktop for this process.
   • Please DO NOT create a separate student-athlete account. Parents and student-athletes can share the same login and password.

1. Fill Out Required Forms:
   • Parent accounts do not require approval to fill out the online forms (this is only for administrators to approve/assign an athlete to a team):
     • Consent To Treat
     • NCISAA Consent to Participate
     • Concussion Form
     • Physical Examination (three parts: two online forms and one form to be filled out by your family physician, which can be scanned and uploaded via your mobile device)

1. Stay Updated:
   • A new app will be available soon. You may download the current app, but please note it will not be supported after July 1.
   • Parent tutorial links are available in DragonFly Academy.

Significant upgrades have been underway on our campus. We’ve added a new turf field, created walkways for easier stadium access, enhanced campus lighting for safety, and improved the overflow parking lot.
