Fair Time Notes!
- Due to high temperatures, the livestock barns will open at 7am on Tuesday, July 30. All livestock are required to be on the fairgrounds by 9am on Wednesday, July 31.
- Awards for Shooting Sports, ATV Contest, and Horse Show will be announced at 7pm on Wednesday, July 31 at the picnic shelter by the KidZone.
- Dodge County Fair Pre-Entry is CLOSED. Pre-entry for all animal shows and contests is now closed. If you missed the deadline and wanted to enter an animal show or a contest, contact the Extension Office today. We will follow the late entry procedure as detailed in the fairbook. There are no guarantees that late entries will be accepted.
- Bedding fees will not be collected this year thanks to a donation from Thernes Trucking and Thomas Cattle Company! Sheep, Swine, and Goat exhibitors will need to provide bedding for their animals. All exhibitors need to ensure animal comfort and cleanliness throughout fair by providing additional bedding for their animals as needed.
- Online pre-entered Static Exhibit Tags are available for pickup in the office on Monday, July 29. They will be available at Static Check in Tuesday and Wednesday at the fairgrounds!
- Exhibitor packets and t-shirts will be available for pickup at the livestock office starting Tuesday, July 30.
YQCA - Required for all Livestock Exhibitors
YQCA is an annual education and certification program focused on food safety, animal well-being and character awareness required for youth ages 8 to 21 who produce and/or show pigs, beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry.
4-H Council Silent Auction
The Dodge County 4-H Council is asking 4-H families, 4-H clubs and 4-H fair supporters to donate items to the auction. Please pass this information along to anyone that may be interested in donating.
Suggested items that can be donated include themed gift boxes/baskets, craft items, plants, gift certificates, tractor toys or sports items. Get creative coming up with something fun for the auction.
Donated items can be dropped off at the Dodge County Extension Office before the fair or at the 4-H office at the fairgrounds on check-in day, July 31 or August 1. The Dodge County Fair is July 31-Aug 4, 2024.

The purpose of the Dodge County 4-H Silent Auction is to supplement and generate funds for the 4-H Youth Program. These funds will benefit the 4-H youth in the Dodge County 4-H Program.
2025 4-H Council Nominations
You can be nominated (or self nominate) to be added to the ballot for the 2025 4-H Council. There are youth and adult roles on the Council.
Please contact the Extension Office today if you have names to be included on the ballot.
- Voting for the 2025 4-H Council occurs during county fair.
Dodge County 4-H Archery
DC Shooting Stars has started offering Archery as a discipline in Shooting Sports! Initial sessions will be in the basement of the City of Dodge’s Auditorium. Sessions will be on Thursday nights at 7pm. If you have schedule conflicts please reach out to Andy Beckman, his contact is below.
We will have initial beginner sessions to introduce kids to Archery. This will cover how to use the equipment, safety rules, range etiquette, etc. Participants are welcome to bring their own archery equipment, we will have equipment available for use if you don’t have your own equipment. Participants need to follow the 4-H Shooting Sports age requirements to participate and be members of the D.C. Shooting Starts 4-H Shooting Sports club. Select Archery as a project in 4honline!

These Ambassadors will advocate for Dodge County 4-H at local events and help mentor younger 4-H members, acting as role model in 4-H. Ambassadors develop their communication skills while promoting 4-H!

The 4-H Council is the governing body of the 4-H program, helping to direct decisions in the program that effect all members and volunteers. Some adult members serve specific parts of the county. Other adults, plus all youth members, serve the county program at large. If you have issues, concerns, suggestions, or ideas, share them with a council member.
