Parking Lot Expectations
Well, Walden Families. Here we are. Back to posting reminders in the newsletter about the parking lot. Long gone are the easy breezy days of September when fewer families drove to school. Now we are back to posting reminders in the Walden Weekly. And why, you may ask? Unfortunately, we are seeing many families taking matters into their own hands in the parking lot and making some questionable choices. It ain't the Wild West out there, folks. Please follow the rules.
- Do not exit your vehicle in either lane of traffic for any reason. If you need to exit your car, please park in a marked parking space.
- The inner lane is for drop off/pick-up only. The outer lane is our drive thru lane. Please do not use the outer lane for pick-up or drop off. This is very dangerous for children.
- Due to the fact that we cannot block the bus circle entrance, you may be asking to circle around after school.
- Cell phone use is illegal in public school parking lots.
- Continue to pull as far forward in each lane as possible when picking up your child.
- Show patience to those around you.
Mrs. Pasquesi and I are outside nearly everyday to assist in keeping the line moving. We kindly request your compliance and cooperation.
Thank you!
PAWS Reward!
Congratulations to our hard working Walden Students who have been earning PAWS tickets left and right! They have filled up our PAWS bucket and have earned a Pajama Day for Tuesday, November 26th!
Winter Weather Gear
The cold temperatures and winter weather have arrived. Here is what you need to know regarding our winter weather expectations and procedures:
Many factors are considered when deciding whether recess will be held inside or outside. These include temperature, wind chill, and the conditions of our playgrounds and blacktop areas (e.g., snow, ice, or water). Generally, we will go outside if the temperature is 20 degrees or higher, and at or above 15 degrees with the wind chill, assuming the playgrounds and blacktop areas are safe.
The decision to go outside is often made just before recess, so it's important for students to come prepared every day. Please make sure your child has proper winter clothing, including a coat, hat, gloves, boots, snow pants, and other necessary items. To prevent mix-ups, please label all items with your child's name.
Additionally, we encourage all students to have a change of clothes at school.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep our students safe, warm, and ready to enjoy the winter weather!
What is in Our Lost & Found?
Our lost items will be donated over Thanksgiving Break. Please come and claim whatever belongs to your child before November 26th. Thank you!
