Notes from Nista
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Ravenna Middle School!
As we wrap up our first semester, we’re excited to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students and staff. Here are some highlights from an outstanding first half of the year:
Academic Excellence: Over 170 students earned a place on the Academic Honor Roll, demonstrating their dedication to learning. Students also made impressive gains on the STAR Math Test, showing significant growth from previous years.
Athletic Achievements: The 8th-grade Boys Basketball team brought home the Conference Championship Trophy, showing grit, teamwork, and Bulldog pride.
PRIDE in Action: Students lived out our PRIDE values (Purpose, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence) every day and were rewarded with two PBIS celebrations for fostering a positive and supportive school community.
Leadership and Advocacy: The Be Nice leadership team launched their first "Notice" activity, encouraging peers to recognize when someone may need support. After attending a leadership workshop, they created a commercial to promote mental health awareness and kindness.
Creative Endeavors: Our 7th-grade Destination Imagination team worked hard researching global warming and learning about machinery, tackling complex issues with innovation and collaboration.
Learning Beyond the Classroom: The “Learning to Litigate” students visited the Muskegon Courthouse, participating in a mock trial, meeting legal professionals, and expanding their civic knowledge in an unforgettable experience.
Enriching Experiences: Students engaged in a variety of programs, from band and choir to STEM, agriculture, and PSAT prep, building skills to support their future success.
This semester has been filled with growth, achievement, and community pride. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making Ravenna Middle School an extraordinary place to learn and grow.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a bright New Year. We’re looking forward to an even greater second semester!
Warm regards,
Rob Nista
