December is a magical time when the world transforms into a winter wonderland. Snowflakes gently fall from the sky, covering the ground in a pristine white blanket. This time of year encourages people to come together, celebrate the spirit of giving, and spread joy to those around them.
One way to embrace the season of giving is by dedicating your time to others. Whether you spend quality moments with family, reach out to those in need, or visit seniors in your community, these acts of companionship can bring warmth and happiness to everyone involved. Engaging in fun activities such as playing card or board games, sharing a delicious meal, enjoying outdoor adventures, or having a cozy movie night together can foster connection and joy.
In addition to giving your time to others, it is important to prioritize self-care during this busy season. Take a moment to slow down and focus on the present. Remind yourself that you are doing your best and that it is okay to take a break and recharge. By practicing self-care, you can rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit, allowing yourself to be the amazing person you truly are.
Another meaningful way to give back is by lending a helping hand to those in need. Shoveling a neighbor's walkway after a snowstorm, offering to babysit for a young family to give them a much-needed break, or donating food items to a local food bank are all impactful ways to make a difference in someone’s life. Additionally, volunteering at a senior home can bring joy and companionship to elderly individuals, who may appreciate the company and support during the holiday season.
Remember, the spirit of giving is not limited to material gifts; it is about spreading love, kindness, and compassion to those around you. By embracing the true meaning of December and the season of giving, you can make a positive impact in the lives of others and create lasting memories for yourself.
On behalf of the Tofield School staff, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noël, Maligayang Pasko, and Miyo-Manitowi-Kîsikanisi.
We hope everyone enjoys a relaxing and rejuvenating Christmas break. Students will return on Thursday, January 6, 2025.

Skills Canada Competition Information
To meet industry and education demands and in anticipation of future trends, Skills Canada Alberta was established in 1992 to equip young minds with the skills that will help Canada compete successfully in a drastically changing world market. This is accomplished through programming targeted at junior high, senior high and post-secondary students. Tofield School has participated in the Skills Canada competitions at the school, regional and provincial levels and hopes to have one of our Titans make it to the national and world championships in the future.
As part of the CTF and CTS programs at Tofield School students may participate in the Skills Canada/Alberta competitions by asking their CTF/CTS teachers. Information is posted outside the CTF/CTS wing showcase or talk with one of the teachers. November Scrapbook
Students in the Tech 8 classrecently completed their lessons on the five main design processes: thumbnails, rough sketches, final drawings, prototypes, and production, all essential for creating a product. After mastering these processes, we decided to design and build dragster cars.
On Thursday, November 7th, students had the opportunity to race their dragsters in the gym. The afternoon was filled with excitement as the cars raced head-to-head in an intense and close competition. The following students placed in the top three:
1. Eve Torpe (First Place)
2. Leland Charlesworth (Second Place)
3. Mason Hawkins (Third Place)
A photo from the event is included below, featuring Mr. Daigle alongside the top three racers.
Thank you to Mr. Flasha for allowing us to use the gym for our friendly competition, and a special thanks to Mrs. Thiessen for capturing the great photo!
