As we head off and start the winter break, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to our school community. This holiday season is a wonderful time to reflect on the achievements of our students and the collaborative spirit that makes our school so special.
I wish you and your families a joyful and restful holiday filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. May this time bring you peace and happiness, allowing everyone to recharge and prepare for the exciting new year ahead. Thank you for being such an integral part of our Baker family. I look forward to welcoming our students back in January, ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges.

US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PEOPLE'S CHOICE ART AWARD WINNER
Aditya Yogesh (8th Grade Student) won the people’s choice title in the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) 2024 Road Safety Art Contest in the 6th through 8th grade category.
The winning artwork will be displayed at the Department of Transportation headquarters in Washington, DC and will be featured on the 2025 FMCSA calendar that hangs in many U.S.
DOT offices throughout the United States.
An official announcement video was released on the FMCSA Facebook page and the Our Roads, Our Safety Facebook Page.
DETROIT SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA CIVIC HONORS BAND: MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR DAYS
Congratulations to the following band musicians on their acceptance into the Detroit Symphonic Orchestra Civic Honors Band. These students will perform with top musicians throughout metro Detroit on stage at Orchestra Hall and have the chance to work with famous conductors and DSO
musicians:
- Nikte Diaz-Ochoa, trumpet
- Luca Stott, tuba
- Isabella Nelson, alto saxophone
- Adhrit Sinha, bassoon
- Alex Nedelcu, French horn
- Eleana Perrone, trumpet

Nominations are now open for the 2024-2025 Troy School District Teacher of the Year! Visit our form to nominate a teacher who has made a difference for your student today!This award recognizes preschool, elementary, middle, and high school teachers from the Troy School District.
The top four winners from the Pre-K-12 system are sent on to Oakland County to compete for the county-wide Outstanding Pre-K-12 Teacher awards. Teachers in the post-secondary program will be included with high school nominees. In addition, one Pre-K-12 Troy School District teacher is selected as the Overall TSD Teacher of the Year.
