Dear Families and Caregivers,
Today, during our school wide community meeting, we discussed our "one word" to help us be our best at VBES! We will continue to focus on this idea next week - ask your student what their "one word" might be to help shape thier year. Mine is Kindness. The children's book that we read is highlighted in the photo!
Visiting parents/caregivers, please park in the inner circle by the island; not along the sidewalk as it is an emergency lane.
Transportation Reminder: An adult MUST be present at the bus stop to get students in grade K-4 off of the bus. Please be mindful of the time of drop off so the bus isn't delayed for the rest of the route.
When sending notes to the office regarding a child's dismissal please include the date, first and last name of the child, reason for dismissal, and the name of the person picking them up.
If you are interested in volunteering at Varnum Brook Elementary School, you will need to complete a CORI form. Cori Forms can be found here: North Middlesex Regional School District CORI Form or are available in the Main office. You will need to bring a Government issued ID to the main office. Cori forms are good for 3 years. If you are interested in volunteering, you can reach out to Mrs. Proulx for various volunteer opportunities. We would love to have you !
Thank you to our Amazing PTO for a wonderful welcome back breakfast and lunch for the staff. Our staff is the most committed that I have had the privilege of working with in 30 years; I thank you for recognizing them and supporting them so generously!
The first PTO meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00. Come learn about the PTO and the amazing ways they support our community. We hope to see you there.

Bus Routes
Bus routes have been established. Please note that bus 6 has been eliminated. If your child was a car rider last year and you would like them to take the bus this year, please email Mrs. Proulx at PProulx@nmrsd.org and let her know. Also, please email Mrs. Proulx any special arrangements your child may have for after school transportation. Please contact Dee Bus at (978) 597- 2860 with any questions or concerns regarding bus routes or pick up times.
Parent Drop off/Pick Up - CHANGE THIS YEAR!
Parent Pick up will now be in the back of the building in the staff parking lot. Cars will enter via Tucker Avenue, turn left down the side street, and take a right into the parking lot. As cars line up, please be sure to pull to the right side, and allow space for vehicles to travel in the other direction.
Students must exit on the passenger side for safety. We have refined the process each day this week; students must only exit when a staff member is there to support- we will load/unload approximately 15 cars at a time.
Older siblings coming to VBES for pick up, must remain on a sidewalk path while entering the back parking lot. It is for their safety, please support this message.
