Safe Place Webinar Series with SDSL
SDSL and Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota are partnering to offer librarians a series of educational webinars designed for awareness and prevention of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Librarians, library staff, and trustees are welcome to join us for one or all of the webinars. Topics and the dates are listed below. Register here to participate.
- May 12, 10:00 – 11:30am: “In Her Shoes” – and Domestic Violence & Sexual Violence services
- May 17, 10:00 – 11:30am: Domestic Violence- Recognize, Respond, and Refer
- June 9, 10:00 – 11:30am: Stalking- Know It, Name It, Stop It
- June 14, 10:00 – 11:30am: Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention
- June 21, 10:00 – 11:30am: Human Trafficking 101
Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota is a non-profit organization serving an eight-county region, which covers Aurora, Davison, Douglas, Hanson, Hutchinson, Miner, Jerauld, and Sanborn. Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota provides safe-have services, including emergency shelter, financial housing assistance and a crisis hotline for victims of abuse; advocacy, including services and resources; and family support, including a safe, neutral location for supervised family visitation and exchanges, as well as a variety of parenting classes.
Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota also offers a variety of resources to the public including speakers, films, and materials as well as programs designed for awareness and prevention of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking.
